The Cardinal Countdown...8 days till kickoff

#8 Gerod Holliman

Class: Freshman Ht/Wt: 6-0/208 Position: Safety Hometown: Miami, Fla

Louisville’s Take: Attended prep school at Milford Academy... safety prospect who seems to always be around the ball... great at diagnosing the run plays versus passes, he is quick to come up and hit a running back... originally committed to Ole Miss... played for Patrick Burrows at Southridge High School... ranks as one of the hardest hitters in the state of Florida... ranked 49th on ESPN's Top 150 and the third-ranked safety... rated by 247 Sports as the 107th-best prospect, the sixth-best safety and the 21st-ranked player in Florida... considered a four-star recruit and the No. 4 safety in the class of 2011 according to ranked a four-star prospect and the No. 10 safety by 193rd on Tom Lemming's list... selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl... member of the BadgerSport Elite 7-on-7 National Championship team... led Dade County with 12 interceptions during his senior season, returning five for touchdowns... recorded an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, a 38-yard interception return for a score, caught six passes for 78 yards and rushed six times for 118 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown run against Coral Reef...

Thoughts: You can see all the accolades for Holliman listed above. The guy is an amazing athlete. I know it’s been mentioned before it seems like all the excitement around the amazing linebacker recruits people forgot about Holliman. There was some concern about his eligibility when he didn’t show up on the post-spring depth chart, but everything got worked out. I like Holliman this year with Hakeem roaming the outfield. I can’t wait to see how Holliman progresses with the other freshman. One thing’s for sure, they’re glad to be Cards.

Potential Nicknames: "Hollywood Holliman"

#8 Kyle Todd

Class: Freshman Ht/Wt: 6-3/205 Position: Quarterback Hometown: Elizabethtown, KY

Louisville’s Take: (No Notes Provided)

Thoughts: Kyle comes to the Cards as a walk-on from E-town. Little known fact, Kyle is actually the younger brother of Chris Todd, who was the starting quarterback at Auburn back in 2008 and 2009. Glad to have Kyle on board to add some depth at the position.

Kyle, I see what you’re doing with the beard there and while I appreciate the effort….you still look 12 twelve years old. Maybe go Fu Manchu…? We’ll work on it buddy.

Potential Nicknames: "Sunny Jr"

#8 Bryce McNeal

Class: Junior Ht/Wt: 6-1/185 Position: Wide Receiver Hometown: Minneapolis, Minn

Louisville’s Take: Transferred from Clemson and joined the Cardinals in August ... has already graduated ... speedy wide receiver who has two years of eligibility remaining ... can step in and make an immediate impact on the wide receiver unit ... has good speed and is a solid route runner.

Thoughts: Bryce is the newest Cardinal on the team. After graduating from Clemson in three years Bryce chose the Cards to finish out his eligibility. While his addition was exciting back in August, it could become even more important with the loss of Michaelee. As a top 10 receiver back in 2009, Bryce adds some depth to a position where his talents could be used early and often. Coach Dugan is optimistic about him but I think he might be down playing his talents somewhat. I guess only time will tell.

Potential Nicknames: Need some help..
