Okay, look, I know it's Football Season, but this is something worth at least noting. This is the first time since 2009 that we have been in this spot, and with the Football AND Basketball we are going to see over the next year and a half, UofL fans have an awful lot to look forward to.
This past week, CRP's good friend, Joe Lunardi, recently wrote this:
"1) Movement among the favoritesStarting at the top, we see changes in the No. 1 overall seed (Louisville Cardinals replace the Indiana Hoosiers) as well as within the full group of No. 1 seeds (UCLA Bruins up, Kansas Jayhawks down). The truth, as outlined in April, is that we're looking at a very weak collection of potential top seeds in 2013. So a tiny shift -- such as Louisville getting healthier or having a bit more depth than Indiana -- is enough to sway the S-Curve."

We must caution ourselves. Do not expect to make it through the year undefeated or nearly undefeated like that Lexington school did last year. We play in a conference that actually plays Basketball. One with good teams. So don't build up a vision in your mind that we are going undefeated in Football AND Basketball in a row, though that would be unbelievable. Or, do dream it, but don't expect it. Expect some challenging games. We will take a few losses, and CRP will use them to his advantage, and we will come out stronger for it.
So what do you guys think? I know this is the most excited I have been since Dean and Cisco were wearing the Red and Black, but does this team have a chance to be better than '05? And do you think the #1 overall seed is too high or will we end up there? I know we are getting a little ahead of ourselves with Football season getting ready to kick off, but I felt this was at least noteworthy.
