#88 Jarrett Davis
Class: Junior Ht/Wt: 5- 9/175 Position: Wide Receiver Hometown: Tyrone, GA
Louisville’s Take: Coming off a solid fall season... showed good speed and an ability to run routes ... played at wide receiver and on special teams ... showed potential as a solid route runner and displayed good hands... will be counted on to contribute.
Thoughts: Jarrett caught a tough break back in 2010 when he hurt his foot only four games into the season. Last year was his first opportunity to make an impact on offense and he took advantage. Playing in twelve games, Jarrett had twelve receptions for 102 total yards, a 8.5 yards per catch average. Labeled as having some of the best hands on the team, I forecast another 100 plus yard season for Mr. Davis with a touchdown or two to boot. We are deep at the position, and one might think stats will be hard to come by, but the offense will be much improved this year and Teddy will spread the love around when we’re not cramming it down defenses throats with the run. Are we talking Petrino numbers? Short Answer: No, but much better than we’ve seen lately. We have too many weapons to only put up 7-10 points a game.
You better call Tyrone….Tyrone, GA that is, and tell them their hometown will be well represented in the Cardinal offense this year. (I’m sorry. I had to. Tyrone, GA…really? You didn’t think I would pull out a "call Tyrone" reference? Don’t judge me.)
Potential Nicknames:"JD", "Tyrone Tornado"
