The Recruiting Rundown: Summer Kickoff Notes

Here's a nice summer update for all you recruiting junkies out there. Lots of stuff to get to here, but first...

The Rundown Rankings

Crappy name? Absolutely. Here, I'm going to make a list of who I think are UofL's top prospects, for the sake of discussion. Not sure if I'll put them in monthly updates, notes updates (which probably will be the most exciting of the updates), and/or commit updates, but regardless, here you go. Once again, going with here.

  1. Jordan Mickey
  2. Chris Walker
  3. Karviar Shepherd
  4. Kennedy Meeks
  5. Tyler Ennis
  6. Jarrell Martin
  7. JaJuan Johnson
  8. Zach LaVine
  9. Troy Williams
  10. Davon Reed

So, there ya go. Discuss, ask questions, as always.

Now, onto the notes...

  • Louisville was the first school to contact Chris Walker during the beginning of coaches being able to call/text recruits as much as they want.
  • Karviar Shepherd is on campus visiting as we speak.
  • Moses Kingsley has essentially stated that Kansas is his dream school.
  • Jahlil Okafor, the #2 recruit in 2014, will visit Louisville. RP was also one of if not the first to contact Okafor.
  • Kennedy Meeks will visit Louisville.
  • Greg McClinton has committed to Wake Forest. I would say tough loss, but Louisville never went all in to recruit him anyway.
  • Troy Williams has a favorite two of UK and UNC, but Louisville may jump into this recruitment because of the fact that UK and UNC just don't seem to be interested.
  • Davon Reed has Louisville on his list of 8.
  • Louisville has offered 2014 power forward Noah Vonleh. Vonleh seems to favor teams like Kentucky, North Carolina, and Baylor (so, in short, not us).
  • Louisville is making a big push for 2014 guards JaQuan Lyle and D'Angelo Russell.

So, hope you enjoyed the notes, please comment and discuss as always, and go Cards.

UPDATE: Very promising news on Jordan Mickey.
