Highly sought-after Virginia Tech transfer Dorian Finney-Smith will be taking his game to Florida, and not Louisville. ESPN.com recruiting analyst Dave Telep first reported the news late Thursday night on Twitter.
A 6'8 power forward, Finney-Smith earned All-ACC Freshman honors in 2011-12 after posting averages of 6.3 points and 7.0 rebounds. He announced he was leaving Blacksburg shortly after Virginia Tech fired head coach Seth Greenberg.
The former consensus top 30 recruit took visits to U of L, Iowa State and Memphis before making his decision.
I think the most interesting thing about this news is the fact that it puts Florida at 14 scholarship players. While so many people were paying attention to the fact that Louisville didn't have a scholarship to give, no one bothered to mention that Billy Donovan was in he exact same predicament.
Losing DFS just makes the 2013 recruiting class that much more crucial for the Cardinal staff.
