The Cardinal Countdown...79 days till kickoff

*(Side note about the countdown) Over the next four weeks fourteen of the fifteen players covered are offensive lineman. Obviously they are an important aspect to the team, protecting Teddy and the RB’s, but hearing about the number of pancake blocks they had or how quick their feet are can be a bit repetitive. Please bear with me…

#79 Jamon Brown

Class: Sophomore Ht/Wt: 6-6/340 Position: Offensive Tackle Hometown: Fern Creek, KY (Played at Fern Creek)

Louisville’s Take: Big, athletic defensive lineman who was considered one of the best prospects in the state of Kentucky... played for Curtis Higgins at Fern Creek High School...

Thoughts: Brown was thrown into the deep end of the pool last year and told to swim. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn’t. In Jamon’s case it appears that he may be heading in the right direction in regards to his development as a true Division I offensive tackle. Playing mostly defense in high school Jamon took on the challenge last year getting his first offensive start against North Carolina and then starting again the following game against Cincinnati. O-Line coach Dave Borbely said Brown has the raw talent to be a special lineman; just needs to work on developing his skill set. By the way, in case you missed it….6-6 and almost three and a half bills. Dude is a beast.
