#81 Chris White
Class: RS Junior Ht/Wt: 6-4/240 Position: Tight End Hometown: Elizabethtown, KY
Louisville’s Take: Sure handed tight end that has made an impact down the stretch.
Thoughts: The book is still open on Mr. White. After signing with the Cards back in 2009, Chris was in the same position as every other tight end over the last three years. Sit and wait. Chris red-shirted back in 09 and didn’t see any time in 2010 either. Last year Chris showed signs of developing into a nice player, and with only two other eligible TE’s this year he will see game time, heck he may even move into a starting role. As previously mentioned, Coach Watson’s offensive attack very well could feature two tight ends as we continually cram the ball down the throats of the defense, so the spot is there for the takin. Chris got the start in three pretty important games last year (SYR/WVU/PITT) and played in the three games following those as well. At 6-4/240 he has the size to be a big time player, but needs to define his role this year with Gerald Christian (you’ll hear more about him later) on his heels next season. While Hubbell may be more of the "play action look for me in the flats" type player, Chris is going to hold off the big boys from penetrating to much. Even with his style, look for Chris to improve over his five catch 73 yard output from last year.
