Louisville Baseball Looks For Share Of Big East Title

Stay connected for news and updates

It's the final day of the regular season, and the Louisville baseball team sits one game out of first place in the Big East.

The Cardinal Nine fell to Pitt 8-2 last night in the second game of a three-game set. St. John's, meanwhile, got a walk-off hit from Zach Lauricella in the 12th inning to top Seton Hall and re-take first-place in the conference.

U of L freshman Jordan Ruxer will be on the bump for the regular season-finale, which is set to get underway at 1 p.m.

A Cardinal victory coupled with a Red Storm loss would result in both teams finishing the regular season with an 18-9 league record. In that scenario, Louisville would earn the top seed for next week's Big East Tournament due to the fact that it took the regular season series with St. John's.
