I think we should all give Kevin Ware a break.
I feel like I am the only person on this site that has any remote faith in Kevin Ware.
Now sure every time he is in the game he does stupid things here and there that make us want to pull out hair out. But the few times that he has scored this season have looked pretty good.
I recall a few times (don't know the game) that when he got the ball and created for himself he uses his length, and size to get off some few tricky shots.
Now we all know he needs work on dribbling the ball, I honestly think that the kid tries to be something he is not (a superstar) right off the bat. He has sloppy ball-handling but that will eventually improve when he gets to learn the system a lot more.
I see him play at the point and I am not confident with him at the 1 spot because of his ball handling, but if he improves his dribble form to where it isn't sloppy as it looked last season, then he can be a real good at the 3 position.
I don't recall seeing him take a jump shot this past season, I'm sure he has taken a few but it was probably on games I didn't get to see so I don't know how his form looks and what he needs improving from a shooting perspective.
His size and length remind me a lot of Kevin Durant, and even though Kevin Durant is light years ahead of Ware as a basketball player, Ware could learn to use his long arms and athleticism to constantly get off better shots in the lane and make shots more difficult to defend.
I have watched all of his high school mixtapes and was hoping that he wound up in Louisville and I got my wish. He needs a lot of work don't get me wrong, but it seems like if this kids head wasn't running a million miles a hour than he could really be a game changer for us.
Give Air Ware a chance!
