Im happy UL came out on top and I would love to say I dont have very much to say about the win against Seton Hall. First of all I'd like to say a wins a wins but to be completely honest this team and the way they played really made me upset and there lack luster finish was very disheartening. Whats it going to take to get this team to be serious and maintain a lead and just play hard and with piose. This UL team brick free throws and failed to recognize the importamce of closing a game out. Our guard play and decision making was again poor during a critical point of the game. Our players need to understand we cannot continue to perform like we did late in the game and expect to come out on top. lt wont happen, not in March, we will find our selves sitting at home with an early exit from the tournament. We lost games against Notre Dame, South Florida, Cincinatti, and Syracuse. In every one of those games, we lacked piose and execution . We should have won those games, and the attitude UL players showed late in the Seton Hall game was scarely similar to those games. Its impairative UL step their game up and be solid perform with confidence show piose when its clutch time, we cant continue to play ugly and under perform at the end of the game. The results of the game against Seton Hall was W in the win column but a similar effort could easily give UL a L in the lose column. I know we played a good game and We came out on top but it shouldnt have been that close. Its March and every team wants to win badly, a last second shot could decide a game. UL cant allow teams to hang around close, if we have an opportunity to put them away. Im just saying allowing a team to hang around because of mental mistakes will likely bite us in the ass. Im a die hard UL fan and Id hate to see us lose another game we should have won. I know our team isnt perfect and Im just saying to lose is one thing but to give the game away is another.
