All year long the Cards and Cats are bitter rivals, with incessant smack-talking - some of it funny, some of it in poor taste, some of it both. I expect that this week we'll have numerous UK fans wandering into our house (ie., Card Chronicle) to chat. Some, I am sure, will be mutant yahoos - all fan bases (Louisville included) have them. However, hopefully most will be polite and intelligent (notwithstanding that one little error in judgment in clearly picking the wrong local team to pull for ...) and I'd like to welcome you to what is going to be an incredible week for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. I think if we were meeting to get TO the Final Four (rather than in it), or playing each other for the national championship, well, things might be rather rough. However, we both made it to the Final Four (UK for the 9th time, UofL for the 8th), which in and of itself is an immense achievement - and after each winning a conference championship. So here's to sitting back, enjoying the ride while the other 49 recognize the superiority of Commonwealth basketball over all others and, come Monday, either UofL or UK winning yet another national championship.*
