This is a constant problem that needs to be seriously addressed. I would love to see the NCAA put in some kind of penalty system for the refs. They need a reason to care about what they’re doing. Since common decency isn’t doing it, surely the fate of their own asses would.

I totally understand how difficult it is to be an official (I’m a soccer official), but when I watch these basketball games I am completely clueless on how they are even officiating these games.

Big East officials are pretty bad, but for those of us who have the displeasure of suffering through Sun Belt games know how bad it really can be. Don’t officials have to go through training and whatnot b4 they can become refs? I fee like every year they have these somewhat random ‘points of emphasis’, but what really needs to improve is just the over all quality of understanding what is and isn’t supposed to called and that includes rebounding, incidental contact, traveling, block/charge, etc.
