COMMENTS PLEASE
I want to address 2 subjects here, that seems like has been the 2 big topics of late.
1. Who else is tired of Pitino? No I am not tired of him because we lost all those games. Why does he always seem to need the spot light on him? I was a big fan of CRP, but I am tired of all his shit. He really pissed me off when he said he was done after 2017!!! I am so sick of him now. He has a few key players leaving next year, and he only has 1 recruit committed. Recruits are going to pick Kentucky over us every time and I am sick of it. Look at all the injuries, no other team in the history of college bball(it seems) has ever had injuries like this. Everyone seems to think that we are going to be a great team next year. I am sorry but I see us really struggling. Kuric and Smith are key players for us, with Buckles out, Marra who knows how he will be, remember CRP said he is the best shooter he has ever coached or whatever, and he is 10/100 on 3s. Everyone says Swop is gone. So who is going to step up. Dieng, and Chane is our only hope, and Rick wont let them get the ball down low. Dieng has improved greatly on offense, we all know about his defensive skills. Chane at times shows signs of being a great player but I think in his bad games he lets his emotions take over. Our offense is to predictable, that is why we rarely score over 60. I dont know seems like our BBall program is falling apart. Sad to say but true. And I am pissed about it!!!!!!!! And lastly please lay off the coke Rick is really shows.
2. People say our BBall program is better than our FBall program. Now yes, next year no. Not the way things are going. CRP can see what a difference CCS is making and how fast he is doing it. I think he is jealous that CCS is going to steal the spot light and I really hope he does. I am more excited about football now than Basketball. And I grew up playing basketball, even played HS ball. I am proud to have CCS not Rick. Yes the whole state of Kentucky is crazy about basketball, but that will change. CCS will be the face of Louisville Athletics. Fans have very high expectations on football, and I believe to high of expectations on basketball.
I am sure people will say I am wrong and this and that, give me valid points then. I would really like for you Mike to share your input on my 2 topics.

I guess its a inside joke. I am new on this site, and love it. I along with you(I hope) am a die hard UofL fan. Dont know the reason for bashing me if thats what it was, I guess he is Pitinos alter boy.

Here's a tip. When we're on a 3 game win streak and things are looking up,.. don't go off the reservation.
I’m a die hard fan just like anyone else who comments/ posts here. Pitino deserves the criticism when things are going badly but he also deserves praise when they’re going well.

When he knows he deserves the criticism he blames someone else. I am so over him. He doesnt deserve the Coach title. 3 game win streak or not I dont like him and never will. He is not GOD like some people think he is.

I think he is far from god,
but, saying some of his dumb comments make him not worthy of being our coach is ridiculous… i’m sorry I just can’t agree with that statement…
Geez, why are YOU apologizing?
I believe this is the strangest fan site I have ever seen. Simply saying you don’t want U of L’s coach fired is accompanied by an apology?
Glad I could be the one to green this, I'm tired of the Pitino bashing
I don’t mind criticism, I was as angry as anybody after the Providence loss, but some people just get off on the negativity. Give credit where credit is due, Rick is better than 99% of college coaches. We have to stop comparing ourselves to UK, it’s apples and oranges. Calpari lives (and will die) by recruiting. UK has a great team because they’re bringing in the top talent. If (or when) that top talent under performs and players are no longer given a fast pass to the NBA the recruits will look elsewhere. Then they’ll actually have to rely on Cal’s coaching abilities. Obviously they’ve had short term success, but I just don’t believe in the long term sustainability of that system.
As for the face of our program: Rick is the face of basketball, Charlie is the face of football. Louisville athletics as a whole doesn’t need a “face” it’s bigger than one man.

Pretty sure Rick wants them to get the ball down low. I think it is the
wing players and guards that are doing a bad job of throwing to the low post.
Come on if you cant make a pass into the post….. I dont even know what to say. Rick lives by the 3 everyone knows that
by CARDS#1ALLDAY on Feb 2, 2012 6:37 PM EST up reply actions
Rick has stated numerous times how the game plan was inside/out and the
guys didn’t execute. I agree in that Rick loves the 3 but he isn’t an idiot. It isn’t our strength this year. Our strength is inside and he knows that. Rick needs a point forward to get the ball down load. It helps to have a guy like TWILL or Earl who were tall and could throw the ball to the post over the top zone. That is what were missing this year. I was hoping Swop could be that guy.
Then why does have really high shooting % in games but only get 5 or 6 shots? I know some are dunks but dame feed him the ball dammit
by CARDS#1ALLDAY on Feb 2, 2012 6:59 PM EST up reply actions
I think this has a lot to do with the guards decisions.
While I love Peyton and Russ, I think at times they are so used to how they were trained to play in the Pitino system, they are having trouble adjusting to properly feeding the big guys. Just my two cents.
While this year is not great...
I think a lot of people forget about the players we have who are injured, Blackshear although injured this year and not having played basketball for over a year, was great in high school. Luke Hancock is a quality component, he can bring a lot to the team. You haven’t seen much of Nunez or Price this season because of how difficult Pitino’s defensive system is to understand. You have to remember it is infinitely more difficult to understand when you don’t have experienced players to help properly illustrate it at practice due to injuries. Rozier, our only commitment this year is far from a bad commit. In addition, we have not seen a truly comfortable Kevin Ware, people have to remember he came in the middle of December, that is a lot of missed practice.
People are having fits over us having one recruit, but you have to remember we have a lot of quality players on scholarship right now which is why we have a limited number of them to give out to recruits. Yes, we have been losing some recruiting battles, and that may not bode well for us. But, I don’t see it as something to panic over just yet. Rick brought in two McDonald’s all Americans this last year (Chane and Wayne).
As far as his comments go, yeah Rick does say some dumb stuff, but that is Rick. I think what he brings to the table outweighs some of his dumb comments.
I don’t see a need to be pressing the panic button just yet. People are screaming over our recruiting classes, but we actually have picked up quality players, a string of multiple issues and injuries has just hidden this fact.
Sorry for the long post, more and more thoughts which needed to be said just kept popping up in my mind haha.
Yea I was thinking of new things as well. But I didnt want to write a book. I forgot about Luke. Wayne I dont even want to talk about because I was so excited to see him play this year, and then he gets injured and gets “fat”. My panic button has already been pressed as far as basketball is concerned. I think we will lack leadership with 2 captains leaving. But what do I know. Ware I think is a disease and we need to get rid of him. Every time he comes in he turns the ball over. Yes injuries have stopped us from having the season we all wanted but I just fear what will happen next year.
by CARDS#1ALLDAY on Feb 2, 2012 6:36 PM EST up reply actions
I think witht he leadership,
Our current leaders are very passive, non vocal leaders. I think what we are going to see is Gorgs, Siva, Luke and possibly Chane step up and take on that role towards the end of the year/next year, so I am not as worried there.
As far as Ware being a “disease” I think is a lack of being comfortable with the playbook because of limited time, I think that will change next year when he gets a full set of practices in without the stress of preparing for a specific game.
You seem to beable to stay positive through all this.
by CARDS#1ALLDAY on Feb 2, 2012 6:57 PM EST up reply actions
It's my goal,
I am of the opinion that we need to wait till the tournament to push the panic button. If we do poorly in the tourney (fist game loss, possibly second) I may be a little more worried, but I am still excited for our future.
As far as leadership, after hearing about Gorgs talking a lot during the team meetings, I have no doubt he will step up :)
Go Cards!
I hope you are right!!!
I just expect to much after how well we played last year. losing Preston, but getting Chane, and a much improved Dieng. I look at Russ as the new Preston. I figured at the most we would have 2 losses right now
by CARDS#1ALLDAY on Feb 2, 2012 7:05 PM EST up reply actions
Russ is not Preston
I love Russ, he is probably my favorite after Gorgs (how can you not love lion chasing Gorgs? Right?), but he certainly is not Preston. Could he be Preston eventually? Maybe, I doubt it but he is what we have. Last year’s team achieved a lot more than they were expected, and Preston getting injured in the tourney game was a huge blow. I think we have a lot of pieces which could give us a very viable team next year.
I see Hancock as our next preston
He was great at george mason and has been under pitinos wing for a year. Russ may get there by his senior season, but Pitino wont shut up about Hancock right now.
by louisvilles brother on Feb 2, 2012 10:21 PM EST up reply actions
You thought we would only have 2 losses by now...
…with the current roster situation and time missed even by those who are active? Have you watched all the games this year? I think the writing was on the wall for several of us and many voiced their concerns early on. This team has some great elements, but make no mistake they’re nothing spectacular. We don’t have superstars that can thrive on sheer talent alone. These guys have to practice together and play as one cohesive unit to achieve success. I think they’re finally headed in that direction. Have a little patience and see where things shake out before hitting the "panic button".
I too have been frustrated with the way this season has been so far. I’d say the injuries are the most frustrating. CRP and his comments to the media are irritating at times, but thats CRP. He’s always been a spin doctor and generally most pay little attention to that. Now it’s in the front of several peoples minds because we all need a reason "why" and someone to "blame". With the string of unfortunate injuries we’ve had this year, how can anyone blame that on the coach? Have you seen what USC has dealt with this year? Something like 6 scholarship players lost to season ending injuries. Who is to blame there?
I guess what Im trying to say is relax. Put your finger down. Enjoy the fact we’re on a 3 game streak in the best conference in the nation. Wait to pass judgement until the season ends. (If there is a first round flame out I’ll be all aboard the wagon). Until then and as always-GO CARDS!!
On the whole "Ware is a disease" thing
I think people forget that he has been with the team for barely 2 months. Yes he turns it over. So do many other freshmen. He will continue to improve along with the other freshmen (like Nunez and Price, specifically) and I think he will be a very good role-player at minimum and maybe even a freakishly-athletic highlight-reel starter at the 3 later on in his career here.
Hold it until after the season.
If you want to vent frustration, that’s healthy, but going off half-c’d doesn’t do any good. FYI: I speak from experience.
This post is ridiculous
We will miss Kyle and C Smith next year, yes. But the Cards have a fuck ton of talent coming back. Siva, Blackshear, Gieng, Behanan, Marra, Hancock, SVT, Russ, etc etc etc. Main reason anyone, especially guys who write posts like these, are bent out of shape about recruiting is cause they pay way too much attention to UK. I’m sick of people saying,“I’m a die hard fan bro,” and talking about next season already like this one’s over. I get it, you are new, but spend some time going through posts by some real douche bags over the course of the last two months and you’ll see that this type of post is played out. You may have just plagiarized and not even know it.
Get out of HERE!!!! cardchomp
Yes we have some talent. But lets analyze it for a second. Siva and Russ might be 6’0 with the right shoes on. One small guard has had problems shooting havent seen consistant evidence that its getting better. The other small guard is a streaker shooter. Their size makes them none factors in the lane especially against teams with bigger guards. (whixh is most of the teams now days). We loose are two best shooters and replace them with one guy who CRP says is a great basketball player. Last time he raved about someone it was Marra. Who turned out to be a very streaky shooter. Some days he couldnt throw it in the ocean if he was standing an inch away from it. Speaking of Marra, who knows how he will come back from acl injury. Cause from the looks of the rest of the players that came back from injuries it doesnt look good. Rock came back extrmely sloopy and didnt look even almost good. Swop looked ok during inferior level competition but has disappeared during games decent competition. SVT is going to be going on what like 2yrs without playing basketball? Ware hasnt proven anything. He hasnt proven to be a solid wing or point. Wayne is just another question mark. So really your just making a guess right? Because half the players that your counting on to have giving us “a fuck ton of talent” are unproven. And we all know just as well as anyting that someplayers dont practice like they play. Some players they look good as high school players but in college they struggle. We dont know what were going to have next year. And loosing our two best shooters doesnt help especially when we already are struggling to score. “But what about chane and gorgi” I know i know. Chane is 6’6 ok. is not even tall enough to be considered undersized. He probably wont make as big a living in the post next year. And if we do make the tournament and get far enough to see a duke like team a team with a excellent front line then people will probable see how much of a difference size will make. See in the big east there are all of 6’8 6’9 guys in the post which doesnt make it that big a deal but when u start getting into the 6’10 6’11 category across the board for a front line he will have some problems. Which just leaves Gorgi and unless Zach develops into a great player or at least a formidable player gorgi wont have a decent back up. Best case scenerio for us is that Ware just needed to get comfy and next year he turns into some kind of reincarnated t-will and blackshear ends up being “THAT GUY” other than those two things that have to happen we will have the same exact team as we do this year only with worse shooters. See how good that year will turn out to be. So dont tell someone there post is ridiculus just because there stating their worries. Because ONE they have a right to. 2 AS A FAN THEY A JUSTIFIED REASON TO ACCORDING TO HOW OUR SEASON HAS WENT THUS FAR

The author of this post on the other hand mistakenly wrote a frustration post in the wrong place and dared people to criticize him by naming it, “Comments Please.” The point of the blog and the Fanpost section is to post material that s informative, thought provoking, and create of form of discussion. Not whine, cry, freak out, and bitch & moan about how everything in their life is fucked because Pitino didn’t sign the all world team. Unlike the author of this post, I will ask that you PLEASE DON’T COMMENT on my response to because your illiteracy is too painful for me to see.

dude, it's the writing he's criticizing, not the people
Believe it or not, writing is an important life skill and people who criticize your writing are doing you a big favor, even if the criticism stings. Embrace the criticism and improve your writing; don’t take it as a personal attack, and DON’T escalate it into a flame war.
If you want people to read what you write, you have to make it readable. Take the time to organize your thoughts. Hit Preview and read your post back to yourself before you hit the Post button. If you write in a way that shows you care about your readers, you won’t get so much flak.
Also, if you look around, you’ll see everybody from Mike on down gets some ribbing on here. It’s all meant in good fun; try to lighten up.

Rick is really great but...
I just wish he would stop being so negative to the players. Positive reinforcement always seems to get more response than just needlessly criticizing players. My father told me that he is friends with a security guard at the Yum Center and said security guard once told him about when everyone was walking out of the locker room after half-time Pitino suddenly turned to Chris Smith and called him a “fucking pussy” and then said Chris Smith looked crushed.
Once again I didn’t hear this myself but my father wouldn’t lie to me and it sounds awfully Rick-like.

I have a buddy of mine that played football @ UK in the late 80's/early 90's,
that was friend’s with alot of the basketball players and if I’m not mistaken frat brothers with Mashburn. He heard a lot of locker room stories. One thing in particular I remembered, was he said that CRP used to destroy Travis Ford in the locker room at halftime. He would curse him and even go as far as to bring his mom into the bashing. Said he (Ford) usually got so pissed and resulted in him being focused and went out and killed it in the second halves of games. Just what I heard.

CARDS#1ALLDAY,
I hear you. You echoed a lot of my inner frustration. After years and years of being a diehard Pitino fan (only place I didn’t follow him was Boston), I’ve grown sick of a lot of his shit myself. Recently, I’ve tried to get passed it and just focus on basketball. But, as soon as I feel like I’m getting there, I read some other stupid ass shit he said and it only renews the dislike. He doesn’t get a free pass to say whatever he wants because deep down we all know it’s just Pitino-Speak, or Rick-Talk. When he says some stupid shit, he should be called on it.
Props for not being afraid to stand up and say what you feel. A couple years ago, a lot of people threw the positive attitudes out the window and voiced their dislike for the previous football coach and what happened? We got rid of him and got a winner, rather than someone who constantly only talks about winning. That said, I don’t feel like Rick should be fired. But, I definitely feel he needs to get his shit together and deliver on (and off) the court. Stop getting blown out by teams we should wipe the floor with, stop getting ousted from the tournament on the first weekend, land a couple top prospects now and then, stop saying shit to hurt the program, and stop talking to the fans as if we’re all stupid and are full of opinions that are irrelevant. Would be a good start.

I guess it's cause I am new
It’s just how I feel about him, I wish he would get his shit together. We all know he can be a great coach. I just wish he would put his ego away and focus on getting the program to a elite level. That is all I was trying to say in that book I wrote. The guy that said I worry about what KY is doing to much. Yes, you are right. But I am sick and tired of them getting the top players of every position. I know Pitino can get great players in here at THE VILLE. I think we can all agree he needs to get his shit together.
by CARDS#1ALLDAY on Feb 3, 2012 2:47 AM EST up reply actions
You have to understand that there is no program in the country that has ever recruited the way UK is recruiting right now.
And yes I hate it, and it makes me sick to my stomach. But it’s not reasonable to expect UofL to do the same. Let’s just hope the Calipari recruiting magic runs out sooner than later.
I bleed red and black. I poop blue.
I agree
It isn’t reasonable to expect Rick to produce the same results Calipari is getting (however the hell he’s doing it).
I’m not asking for the Louisville version of The Untouchables, but an elite squad that has a realistic shot at winning a national title every few years isn’t being unfair. Since he’s been here, we’ve had one team that had a good mix of talent, depth, hard work, and attitude and had a decent shot at getting there. And even then, we were still not in UNC’s league.
We have a rich, storied program full of tradition, great fans, and a future hall of fame coach. We should always be in consideration to land a top prospect. As someone pointed out in a fan post not long ago, we weren’t even mentioned by a lot of them.
________________________________________________
www.lordkayoss.com
There really is no magic to what he does.
He offers the best players the fastest route to the NBA by offering them playing time right away, a game plan that let’s them showcase their individual talents and tv exposure. He himself has said that he is a players coach (Me First) , while we tend to have a more team oriented approach (Louisville First).
Further, with only a limited number of scholarship openings each year, I can easily see how he can approach the top several guys at each position, tell them he can only offer one or two of them this short cut to riches and then let them compete for the slot. If your sole objective is to recruit the best NBA bound players each year, this looks like a very successful approach.
Therefore, if you are an elite level athlete, who thinks he is ready, or very close to ready for the NBA, all you really are looking for is a program that will give you a platform to showcase your skills, enough playing time immediately to do that, and enough exposure with a credible program so that the right people will notice. This is exactly what Calipari offers them and that’s why his recruiting is so successful (if this is how you define successful).
by Carolina Cardinal on Feb 3, 2012 10:09 AM EST up reply actions
What he is doing
is very cynical and harming to the college game and to the players. Its the kind of abuse of a system that will eventually lead to a change in the rules for either recruiting or eligibility. The one and done days are coming to an end. My guess is before the end of the decade.
I think Pitino, and most other coaches really are about making kids better ballplayers, and better men. Yes, I know they are also about winning and all that as well so don’t respond with all that crap.
What Calipari is doing is exploitation, and its disgusting. More importantly, at least so far, it’s not very successful when it comes to winning a championship. Honestly, real true blue Kentucky fans ought to be a little queasy about what he has done to the version of “the Wildcayts” you hold in your blue-tinted little minds.
I agree completely and also think that the NCAA will have to change this system.
But I really don;t get it when people say they can’t understand how Calipari gets the top recruiting class every year. It is painfully obvious how he does it.
by Carolina Cardinal on Feb 3, 2012 4:19 PM EST up reply actions
Yes, it is.
One of the ways he does it is shove other players out of the way. The first year he was there was a bloodbath. Kevin Galloway was a senior and got shown the door. Pilgrim had just sat out a year after transferring – he never saw the floor and was not allowed to stay. Etc., etc.
Calipari doesn’t even want to keep GOOD players. He can’t offer a starting job to a bluechipper if he has a starter. So voila! Liggins, as hard playing an overachiever and defender as I’ve seen at Kentucky in a while, leaves the program as a junior and essentially says he’s not wanted. Yeah, he said it.
Calipari announced Patrick Patterson was leaving before he did – after moving him to the wing and making some kind of wandering three point shooter out of him throughout his junior year so Cousins could have his inside position. (Patterson, a preseason All American, pretty much dropped off everyone’s radar as they raved about the latest thing, Cousins.)
And the latest second thought is Darius Miller, Senior. Cat fan from birth (there’s a great picture of him as a child with Tony Delk at a UK camp): MVP in the SEC Tournament and Final Four player in his Junior year. Now he comes off the bench after a brand new freshman.
Calipari’s system is exploitation to the max. I have really felt for some of the kids in that program.
I think this had a lot to do with Terrence Jones's disappearing act earlier
this season. I think he had a hard time adjusting to being treated as yesterday’s news
I forget
Were Blackshear and Behanan both highly ranked McD AA’s signed together? Arent they both freshman?
Didnt know I would have been graded on this. Sorry I dont speak “proper” english.

Every time you speak or write you are being graded.
I stopped reading after a couple sentences because it wasn’t worth the effort to try to understand what your points were. It certainly wasn’t worth trying to refute your points, because no one has any idea what they are. Hell, you asked to be graded.

"Every time you speak or write you are being graded."
So true. That should be prominently posted somewhere.

Well I'm sorry I don't "use a toothbrush." I'm sorry I don't "wipe properly."
I bleed red and black. I poop blue.
"Didn't", "would be" (not "would have been") and "don't"
Just sayin’.

Comments next month
will be interesting. When we fail to get out of the first round again with CRP. I hope I’m wrong but does anyone really think this team can make a sweet 16 run. 11 yrs and only 3 of those pass the 1st weekend. I do like CRP. However he has not delivered on his part of the bargain. KFC YUM, new facilities, more money, fan support on and on and he can’t get us to a consistent a sweet 16 type team. So all the people bashing CARDS#1ALLDAY maybe the same people bashing CRP when were lose in the 1st rd again. Hope i’m wrong but until I see different results in the NCAA I will continue to expect the norm for CRP and the CARDS…holla
Finally....
A “Cardinal Fan” that gets it…..
Everybody is still bashing me but yet several people are saying we are probably losing in the first round. Im glad I can be the laughing stock of CC

People have just gotten sick of the constant negativity.
It’s nothing personal.
I bleed red and black. I poop blue.
You are not a laughingstock and there are many who feel as you do.
It’s just that CRP is a very hot topic on here with greatly varying degrees of support for both ends of the spectrum. And while a few sit squarely on the far end of each position, most of us struggle with the conflict that is CRP. That he is both one who appears to be a brilliant, Hall of Fame coach that we are fortunate to have and should support no matter what, but that only getting past the first round of the tournament 3 times in 11 years is not what we expect of a brilliant Hall of Fame coach.
I think many on here strongly believe in both of these statements, hence the internal conflict we feel.
Notice I did not bring up other issues (Sypher, injuries, recruiting, Rick-Speak, etc). These are also major issues that fans fall on different sides of and add additional fuel to one side or the other. To me there is no absolute right or wrong here and there is some validity to every point mentioned. That’s why it is such an explosive topic.
Go Cards.

I don't mind his thoughts
But it’s absolutely rediculous to think that it isn’t a waste of space to ask for comments to back you up, especially how testy things get with this subject.
Remember the Beef Bowl!
If it makes you feel better,
I don’t think you’re at all funny.
Type your post in Word first...
So you can spell/grammar check it. Then I may actually take the time to read it (if it’s passable).
p.s. The self-pity “Waaaaah everyone’s bashing me” thing isn’t helping

Oh crap...
That comment was basically already made previously
Maybe I’m just impatient
And that "already made previously" was redundant
I shame myself…. :(
Irrelevant question
Does anybody know who the 2013 bball recruit visiting this weekend is? I saw the article posted on ESPN insider but of course it wouldn’t say who it was without paying… Anybody know?
I deff share your frustration!!
I’ve been frustrated all season. With the offense looking so crazy. And hearing every excuse but what the truth is. I believe that he makes a lot of mistakes that are soley based on pride and what he believes. He is going to mess Nunez up trying to play him at the 4. He wants him to put on 25 lbs and play in the post. That will deff cause more of a mess than anything. The fact that he cant compete ont he recruiting trail is something that i am also frustrated about. Charlie Strong comes in here recruits gets great boys. And thats what i thought came along with a high profile coach. What coach other than Pitino do you know that is a future hall of fame coach and cant get the talent to compete. Yes wayne will great. Chane is great Gorgi is great. But next year without kyle and chris and like 80 people recovering from injuries what kind of tema can we expect to have!!! Dont think it will be a good one. I’ve said this before and i’ll say it again. He reminds me of Denny Crum before he retired. Looked like he was stuck in his ways. Like he knew what was best and that was just it no matter wheather we were getting killed or what. No adjustments no half time change of stratedgy nothing. Same things that i noticed with Pitino right now. mark my words were heading to a another one and done in the tournament. (If we even make it) And next year will be a quote on qoute “rebuilding year for us” yea i’m not threw with us or not backing us as a fan i am a die hard fan and i will never stop watching us play but my enthusiasm is gone and right now i’m just counting down the days until football season. And i’m sure that CRP will be mad once Jurich realizes that we will make much more money in the big 12 especially with the way our football team will compete. Once we make that move i’m sure that will be the end for rick
Goddamn, this site is full of complete assholes. You should all be ashamed.~
Here are some comments about your OP:
1. Lots of people are sick of Pitino. Even more people are sick of the whining about Pitino. You don’t dump Hall of Fame coaches.
2. You are either 17 years or just fucking naive if you honestly believe football is going to replace basketball at the University of Louisville. We are a basketball school. We’ve been a basketball school since before most of the people who post on this site (yours truly included) were born. That will not change next year, in 2017, or in 2027. I’m not saying I’m not a huge football fan. I am. But our athletic department and the boosters (read: rich, retired season ticket holders) are deeply entrenched in basketball. Charlie will build on the athletic foundation laid by Peck and Crum. But it takes decades to build tradition. That’s why the football vs. basketball mentality seems so uninformed and hostile to most of us who are over 30 and have a little sense of where our football program has been.

Excellent point, very well made

Remember when...
Rutherford said this Louisville team was a legitimate national championship contender….funny joke!!!
I remember the same type of jokes about UCONN last year.
Im not say we have a great chance, but peyton has picked it up, other guys have come off injuries and we might have enough luck to do something. Anything can happen in the tourny. just ask VCU or butler.
