When does the new Lunardi bracket come out?
I want to see what seed he has us at.

We're a 4 seed in the Midwest region (playing the 13th-seeded winner of the play-in game between NC State and Minnesota in Portland)
Also, that is a pretty soft region.
Missouri is tough but they also play 0 defense. Of course, I’m sure we would have to face Michigan St. in the EE and I think we all can agree we hate the Tom Izzo match up.

How on earth...
is San Diego State and St. Mary’s (no quality wins, losses to Denver and Gonzaga) ahead of us in the ESPN poll?
is Michigan (losses to Iowa, Ark, UVA) ahead of us in the AP poll?
Is this a joke?
how does baylor get swept by both kansas and mizzu and still stay at 9.?
maybe if we get a Big 12 invite we can get some love like that too.
ain't no shame in losing to two top 10 teams
they may be a tad overrated, but they don’t have any 31 pt beatdowns vs Providence weighing them down. If we keep on winning, we’ll take care of ourselves just fine
I agree with your points
But, I think this is the problem with voting in general. We (as UL fans) and sportswriters put way too much emphasis on us getting blowed out by providence. It was one game, and the perfect storm of back shit happening. Providence was on fire, Kyle didn’t play, Rak got hurt at the beginning of the game, and our confidence was all sorts of fucked up.
I also agree that there’s no shame in losing to top 10 teams, but a true top 10 team would go better than 0-4 against other top ten teams. At least win one of them.
UL probably should go 0-3 against the top 2 teams in the country. But, if we’re really a top 10 team (which I believe we are), we should win 1 of them. The laws of probability suggest it at least.

I'm not seeing many teams on these polls that I think would beat us. I know I'm biased but I like our odds against most of these teams.
Anthony Davis is ugly.

Over ranked teams
Murray State: RPI = 54, Kenpom = 67
Flordia: RPI = 26, Kenpom = 18
Florida State: RPI = 27, kenpom = 26
san diego state: RPI = 22, Kenpom = 56
mississippi state: RPI = 44, kenpom = 71
I know a lot of voters probably don’t know about kenpom, but I’d have a hard time ranking a team with an RPI of 44 or greater.

agreed on all but Florida
my computer rankings have:
Murray St #56
Florida #11
Florida St #25
San Diego St #45
Mississippi St #52
(I won’t say who moved up to #1 this week; I will only curse Ohio State for losing.)
Louisville is currently 22nd in my rankings. Syracuse, #5 according to my algorithms, is favored by 1.82. Since my ratings are based on the entire season and don’t give recent games any more weight than early ones, and since we have improved greatly in recent weeks, we should do significantly better than my computer thinks we will. I look forward to the Cards continuing the tradition of beating Syracuse in whatever sport we play them in.

Where do the Cards sit in these rankings?
