National Signing Day, Louisville Recruiting: Nick Dawson The First To Sign
Nick Dawson, the four-star linebacker whom many consider to be the crown jewel of Charlie Strong's recruiting class of 2012, was the first Louisville commitment to fax in his signed letter of intent on national signing day.
Dawson had said earlier this week that he'd wanted wanted to be the first "official" member of the class, and he backed that up by faxing his LOI just after 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The only semi-surprise addition of the day thus far has been the signing of Lamar Atkins, a linebacker out of Miami Norland. Atkins is the brother of Louisville signee Keith Brown, and had previously been committed to Illinois with Brown.
Nearing the noon hour, Louisville's recruiting class currently sits at 24 members. That number includes Florida transfers Gerald Christian and Robert Clark.
Here are the guys who are signed, sealed and delivered as of this moment:
Nick Dawson
Abraham "Nach" Garcia
Brandon Radcliff
DeAndre Herron
DeAngelo Brown
Sid Anvoots
T.C. Klusman
Hunter Bowles
Will Gardner
Robert Clark
Gerald Christian
DeVontre Parnell
Gerod Holliman
James Burgess Jr.
Joe Manley
Joshua Appleby
Keith Brown
Kevin Houchins
Lamar Atkins
Larry Jefferson
Pedro Sibiea
Ryan Hubbell
Sheldon Rankins
Disappointed no one's had any other crazy hairdos or dropped a "CardsFan922" in an official quote. Still plenty of time, fellas.

Class looks real solid no matter what it ends up being ranked
Not too mention, some of the best recruits are already enrolled and hitting the gym. Can’t wait for HCCS’s press conference. I’m excited to be a UL fan
Man, I hope Wales get added to that list
I’d love to see WKU succeed and whip up on UK, but it would be a little bitter sweet with all that talent that was once committed to UL (Damarcus Smith, Pearson, Wales, Eric Robinson-Berry-2011)
smith
Smith hasn’t signed with WKU yet, i hope he does. but after everything that happened last year, i won’t believe it until i physically see Smith in a WKU uniform (hopefully 9/1 against Austin Peay)
Oh, I thought Demling tweeted it was a done deal
Also thought he mentioned something about a former Seneca Wide receiver too
I'd like to think that he's learned some valuable lessons by now
Without Bender in his life, I’d love to see him redeem himself @ WKU and get that program some national recognition. And, I want to see more of this

Hell yeah!
We already know Charlie can coach up less-than-stellar talent. I cannot freaking WAIT to see what the man can do with players not recruited by someone named Kraghthorpe. Sweet!

All I want fromt his class is for one of them to emerge to be a future...
…CC Man-of-the-Year candidate. Big shoes.

Don't put those kind of unrealitic expectations on the kids
a Heisman maybe, but CC man-of-the-year is just too much to expect from kids this young
Teddy got a nomination in year one.
Don’t tell me it can’t be done again. Lofty, I know.

I want see Appleby come in and start making in impact immediately
And maybe one day bring another Lou Groza award to the ’ville.
No he wasn't a big-timer in HS, that's why he ended up as a JUCO.
But he was listed as one of the top 10 available JUCO players in the country period. Huge get and has the talent to be an instant impact. If I’d peg him with a sappy star rating today, I’d say he’d be a high 3 star, flirting with a 4th by a few services.

Based on Rivals and Scout along with his offer list
He’s a 2-star. I’ve never seen the kid play live but he could be underrated just like anyone else. I don’t personally see anyone unseating Chris White as the “starting” Tight End, but having JUCO experience will give this kid the best shot.
Very nice class...I cannot wait for the spring game.
Welcome to Cardnation! We are about to be doing big things.
