As a fan it ticks me off when I go to the games and I see huge chunks of open seats. Charlie mentioned it the other day in his scolding of the fan base and it's a legit issue that I've complained about for a long time. But I think it's more than just a few college kids were lazy and decided not to show up. Instead of seeing 1 or 2 seats here and there empty what I notice are the ROWS and ROWS of seats that are empty together which seems to indicate that the same person/company/sponsor owns them and just isn't using them. It's not that people aren't showing up, the tickets aren't being used which is a completely different issue to me. I keep trying to think of ways to solve the issue and other than identifying the ticket holders and calling them out for being terrible fans/sponsors, what else can you do? Revoke tickets if you don't show up to 50% of games? If you're not there by end of 1st Quarter someone can buy your seats? Maybe UofL provides an online system to resell your tickets conveniently through the box office when you find out last minute you can't make it?

What are your thoughts on the empty seats? Does everyone see the huge chunks of open seats like I do? Any other theories on why this is? What's the solution to pack the house?
