I read the Q&A that Vance did with C.L. Brown and he asked about the concerns that some fans had
about seemingly regressed defensive production this year. He responded by not really answering the question which upset me. I would like to know why our defense looks as bad as it does this year and I'm sure other fans want to know as well. To paraphrase he said two years we had seven wins compared to 10 this year so we can't be to bad. He later gave numbers that to me sustains fans reason to be worried saying we were ranked 18th one year 21st the next and this year were currently ranked 25th. So we've steadily declined over the last three seasons.
Blame it on being a young team. Say we need bigger corners , say the interior of our d line needs to play better but dnt use out record as a sheild for the defense obvious poor play. We've seen this year our corners get beat consistently against faster receivers our interior lineman and linebackers have repeatedly refused to get off blocks or flat out miss tackles. Performances like those against North Carolina, USF, and that debacle at Syracuse are reason fans like myself are extremely worried about Florida. A team that is not short on speed or talent. I love my team and I'll back them and cheer for them until the wheels fall off. I'm excited for our program. I respect Charlie's stance in saying lets see how we stack up against some tough competition. I respect his honesty of saying we aren't where we need to be. I respect the fact when he is asked a question he answers honestly and at lest gives us a decent response. But as far as Vance goes that is his unit and he didn't man up in my opinion when asked about the production or lack there of on that side of the ball. CC ur thoughts please.
