Call it the ACC effect.

Three-star defensive tackle Finesse' Middleton (Gadsden, Ala./Gadsden) has decommitted from Ole Miss in favor of Louisville. He announced both pieces of news on Twitter.

Middleton, who took an official visit to U of L over the weekend, said Charlie Strong's vow that he was staying at Louisville was what ultimately sealed the deal for him.

"He was like, ‘I ain't going nowhere no time soon," Middleton told the C-J. "... I asked him straight up if he was going to leave or had any intention of leaving, and he said, ‘no.'"

Middleton, who is Louisville's first verbal commitment since Aug. 1, says he will graduate early and enroll at U of L in January. He plans to be a hybrid linebacker/defensive end (think Deiontrez Mount) during his stint as a Cardinal.

I'm of the line of thinking that any time you can steal a recruit from an SEC school, it's pretty good news.
