The college football Hall of Fame needs to remove the ridiculous restriction against admitting coaches with losing records. Howard single-handedly built 2 programs from the ashes and 1 program entirely from the ground up, including a national champion and a Fiesta bowl winner. The man could have stayed and been a perennial champion, but his calling was truly as a builder and crafter of programs where none had really existed before. He turned lumps of coal into diamonds and no one will ever forget that. It's good to see that he has been included in the photo montage on the cover of espn.com for their dynasties of college football piece.
