The most famous cast in Louisville is no more.
Rick Pitino announced during his weekly radio show Wednesday night that Gorgui Dieng's cast has been removed, and that he expects the junior center to return to practice on Sunday.
Dieng has been out of action since fracturing his left wrist during Louisville's Nov. 23 win over MIssouri in the Battle 4 Atlantis.
Though Pitino had originally targeted U of L's Dec. 19 home game against Florida International for Dieng's return, he now says fans shouldn't expect to see The Gorgster until the Dec. 22 tilt against Western Kentucky in Nashville. He stated that Dieng will play "a bit" in that game, and then play a week later against arch-rival Kentucky.
He also might start and play all 40 minutes against Memphis on Saturday. Who knows.
