I posted a week ago asking whether readers want Mike to post a FanPost or FanShot on CC linking to his other SB Nation articles. A week later, 93 people voted, and the vast majority, 86%, say "yes".
Of course Mike didn't ask our opinion. But some of the comments on that post are worth mentioning:
First, Mike noted that he tested this out last year and heard a resounding "don't bother us with that" response. That means Mike now has two "data" points. This poll (favor) and last year's feedback (against). Makes it hard for me to conclude with "see, Mike, the people demand you cross-post."
Second, there is some nuance to this idea. It seems the hostility is primarily towards clogging up the main front page with non-UL posts. FanPosts, FanShots, or, as hothot suggested, links in the News and Notes posts are much less invasive and seem a good compromise.
Currently, Mike's working model is to occasionally highlight his other work for CC readers. Should he continue this way, it was noted that you can add Mike's SB Nation user page to your favorites, or follow his twitter account (@CardChronicle), to keep up with all the non-CC writing he does.
For those of you that care, I hope this little exercise helped. For those of you that don't, thanks for reading anyway (if you're still here).
