I just saw this on ESPN.go and can't help but wonder what the state of college football will be in a decade. Dollars are driving it all, driving the NCAA, university presidents decisions, and conference loyalties/disloyalties.

"The deal covers the national championship game and semifinals as well as bowl games that will be part of the semifinal hosting rotation in years they don't host a semifinal game. Earlier, ESPN announced deals with the Rose, Sugar and Orange Bowls."

The worry I have is that contracts such as this are what allowed the development of the current state of confusion in college football. Once tv contracts and markets become the driving force and the dominant influence then the chance for a school like Louisville which is doing it from top to bottom the right way is locked out due to low potential market revenues for ESPN or a conference.
I fear I am watching the end of an era of college football I grew to love and anticipate each Fall,
