Just finished listening to a jubilant Rick Pitino speak about the Breeder's Cup on the Jim Rome radio show. The excitement level in his voice was unmistakable. He recounted a few of his previous races, spoke as to how horse racing was a relaxing vacation to the intense game of basketball and recounted different players he has named horses after.
This year, Pitino has entered his two year old South Floyd in the 1:06 pm Juvenile Sprint race that will feature a total of seven two year olds, and will kick off the Breeder's Cup. Matt Gardner of SB Nation has South Floyd as his pick to win the sprint.
