Just a few years ago we were the laughing stock of college football, winning 1 conference game, and totaling a 4-8 record.
Just THREE years into Strong's tenure and he has us in the TOP TEN by the votes and respect of his peers in the coaching community. We all expected great things under Strong, but I don't think anyone expected this high of a ranking this soon. It's a testament to the attitude the staff has instilled in the young men on our roster. They never quit.
I'd like to thank Tom Jurich for hiring the perfect man to lead our program. He took a chance on a guy that nobody gave a chance to. It's paying off.
I'd like to thank Charlie Strong for changing the culture. I'd also like to thank him for hiring the best top-to-bottom coaching staff in the entire country. I'd like to thank his staff for sticking with us, knowing they have had opportunities at "bigger" name schools and turned them down to be a part of what Charlie is building in Louisville.
I'd like to thank our players for never getting down on themselves, even at the lowest points of their careers. I'd like to thank them for representing the University at the highest level possible and having great character to back up their football talent.
I'd also like to thank the fans for making this year so special. We've had attendance gripes in the past, but the Cardinal faithful have made a stand this year and have been an extremely supportive bunch. You guys have been loud, respectful, and made PJCS a great atmosphere for college football.
Never in my life have I been more proud to call myself a fan of the Louisville Cardinals.
Look out world...here comes Charlie Strong's Cards. And I don't think you want a part of them.
