3rd Scrimmage Post Game Interviews & Buy In

I didn't watch the scrimmage because I live out of town now, and I know there are a million different things to be excited about for this basketball season, but one thing really struck me watching the post game interviews from the players. Every single guy seems 100% bought in to Pitino's system and his game plan.

It isn't ever really talked about a huge amount, but I think player buy in is and under valued aspect of great teams, especially when you have a coach with knowledge of Rick Pitino. One thing that always seemed missing from those Earl Clark, Twill, Sosa teams, talented as they were, was buy in to Pitino's brand of basketball. I think it was even an issue last year all the way up to the Run we made that started with the BE tournament. We finally saw last year's team buy in to Pitino's philosophy of Defense FIRST, and the offense will come, don't force it (Unless of course we are talking about Russ in which offense should probably always be forced) and look at the result. I know this isn't any kind of crazy revelation, but it really strikes me how every single player on the team is echoing Pitino's philosophy of defense first and letting the offense come to them, and it gets me excited.

Basketball season is going to be an incredible follow up for and incredible football season.
