Louisville Jumps Two Spots in AP Top 25 After Strong Showing Over Pitt

Louisville defeated Pittsburgh at home, putting an end to a couple of ugly stats; a four-game losing streak to Pitt and five consecutive years of losing their conference opener. The Cards demolished the spread by 7, finally enough it seems, to impress the critics and earn the redbirds some love in the AP poll.

Louisville jumped two spots to number 16 in the AP ahead of former Big East opponent West Virginia, who fell from number 5 to 17 after a drubbing by unranked Texas Tech. The Cards also jumped two spots in the USA Today Poll from 16 to 14.

Next up for the Cards is South Florida, a team who is experiencing difficulties this year, followed by Cincinnati who holds steady at 21 in the AP and is undefeated at 5-0.

Go Cards!
