Senorise Perry rushed for 101 yards and a career-high four touchdowns on just 12 carries as Louisville overcame a 21-17 halftime deficit to top host Pitt 45-35 on Saturday.
The Cards are now 6-0 and bowl eligible after winning their Big East opener for just the second time since joining the conference in 2005.
The other star of the day for Louisville was quarterback Teddy Bridgewater who completed 17-of-26 passes for 301 yards and a touchdown. His most targeted receiver was DeVante Parker, who had 153 yards on four receptions including a 75-yard TD catch at the beginning of the second half.
Though the U of L defense surrendered 35 points, it also recorded five sacks of Pitt quarterback Tino Sunseri. The Cards had just five total sacks in their previous five games.
Again, not the complete effort that would have taken place in our ideal worlds, but a big conference road win against an amped up opponent playing on Homecoming weekend.
Halfway home to a perfect regular season.
