Charlie Strong received some good news today regarding Louisville's 2013 recruiting class.
UPDATE: Jody Demling just implied on Twitter that Valdes' verbal commitment is not yet official. The prudent thing to do here is to give the football staff a chance to address the issue after tonight's practice before jumping to any conclusions.
FYI, despite what some reports say. Louisville football still has just 9 verbal commitments for the Class of 2013.

On his 18th birthday, Lakewood High WR Marquez Valdes verbally committed to Louisville, becoming the 10th commit in Charlie Strong's 2013 class and the second receiver alongside 3-star wideout CJ Cooper of Raleigh, NC.
"It was the place that fit me best," said Valdes. "I just had that feeling from talking with the coaches and watching their games."
The St. Petersburg, FL native, listed at 6'3" 190, is rated a 3-star by Rivals and ESPN and picked Louisville over West Virginia, Iowa State and Toledo. Recruiting analysts for ESPN describe Valdes as a possession receiver with strong hands who should be able to add bulk to his frame over time.

Happy Birthday and welcome to Louisville, Marquez.
