Lets Talk some Football

Ok so Charlie Strong has managed to stay on track and on pace with other coaches that have had success @ uofl. John L, And that other lying looser i forget his name but he coaches at one of those SEC Teams that will never wina SEC Championship. Anyways Charlie strong in his first year recruiting and in a very limited time put together a solid group. Now with more time it seems as though he is putting together another stellar recruiting class. No not a Florida or Notre Dame like recruiting class. But he's going into the heart of the south Florida and Georgia. And is coming away with players. Its very possible that with this could be a big week for us recruiting landing a couple of 4 star recruits. We already had one commit yesterday. So there is no question that he is doing what is necessary to get the talent level up at our school.

Next year we will return the majority of our players. Theres less than a handful that we will actually miss. I love scruggs but He didnt see the feild as much do to injuries and because of the production coming out of everyone else. Dexter WILL BE THE BIGGEST PIECE TO REPLACE!!! I said it first. But i do think with recruiting and our coaches knowlege of the that side of the ball we willbe fine. Our secondary is going to go from being one of the most inexerienced to probably one of the most feared in the nation. Compiled with the dominant front 7 that we will have we will be even harder to score on. Thats scary considering we only allowed what like 19 points a game, and were nationally ranked in a lot of defensive categories.

Now for the trouble some side of the ball. LOL Our offense. Which really seemed to come on toward the end of the year. Now what will Charlie do. Will he keep shawn watson calling the plays or wil we go with another guy and a new system. I'm willing to bet that he keeps Watson at the OC position because there was a noticeable differnce and i think with the time and work put in over spring and fall camp. We will see a much more effecient offense. A line that needed half the season to get healthy and gel, will be returning 4 out of 5 starters. And because of injuries other people have played. Teddy as we know is phenominal. Wide outs and running backs are solid. I sincerly beleive that with the line coming back running will be a better success. There were times this year where the line opened gapping holes so i think we will see our backs not have as much trouble running. And teddy will have more time throwing. Throwing to who?? Glad you asked. Devante parker who will catch every ball thrown above his shoulders. Tough Andrell Smith. Shifty Michealee Harris (hopefully he comes back the same after his injury and stays healthy) Eli,., Tight ends Nord And Ball (although chichester was tall we wont miss all the crucial drops he had) So in short we have a splended array of weapons at that position. Thats the most talented poisiton on teh feild for us.

Now one thing i beleive we were missing last year was a gamebreaker. A player that could break at anytime. Ex lionel gates bilial powell deion branch arnold jackson, zeke parker, those kinds of players. So i'm hoping that the transfer from florida (yes i forgot his name but here's to hoping he wont let me make that mistake ever again) comes in a contrbutes. And lets not for get about our man Charles Gaines. He was hurt and got a medical red shirt. But got rae reviews in the spring before going down. He was orginally a wide out before getting moved to corner. So there is a chance that he could go either way and he was a speed guy. And someone they thought could strecth the defense. So expect him to be the real deal if he see's the feild next year since we are pretty much set at everyone posisiton.

I'm closing with a predication. Considering the fact that our coach is defensive minded i'm not only expecting teh same result from our D But i'm expecting better. That being said if the defense is better than last year and holds opponents to and even lesser scoring average. I'm saing we win 2 more games just off that. Abetter defensive showing in games where we lost having the lead in the fourth like cincy, marshall, i believe north carolina . I say we get 2 of those kins of games next year solidly. Charlie being teh man of excellence he has been. I'm sure that combined with the talent coming in and coming back. that the offense will do better. So that being said the losing to smaller less talented teams like a FIU will not happen next year. Its hard for me to see us loosing more than 2 games next year considering what Strong has been able to do thus far. So i'm going on record of saying were's going 11-1 our one loss maybe coming to Pitt @ Pitt Thats nothing against cincy west virgina or any other team we play its just we get all of the tough gmaes at home. And i dnt see us loosing out of conference sorry not even to north carolina. So unless there is a change to the schedule of teams we are slated to play i think @ worse maybe we go 9-3 but no injuries (knock on a tree!!! no just a wood table but a huge oak tree) we go 11-1 and our first orange bowl under Charlie Strong. Go Cards!!!!
