Anymore on Wayne Blackshear?
I know he had the set back about a week or two ago so they were saying early to mid February. Then Pitino had some comment about him drinking milk and it keeps making him sick (not sure what that was all about). Has anymore been said though about a projected date of game action for him? Also, it doesnt appear that he has lost the weight that Pitino wanted him to by seeing him on TV during the timeouts.

Nothing Definitive Yet...
But I would expect him back within the next few games, possibly by the time we play UConn at home (which would be huge).
Why even play him this year at this point?
He’s overweight, hasn’t played in a year, certainly doesn’t understand Pitino’s freshman-proof system, and it’s basically February. Him playing at this point would be similar to Kragthorpe burning Bilal Powell’s redshirt in the Rutgers game. Complete waste.
"We are on a collision course with the national championship; the only variable is time"
The argument is:
He is very likely to leave before his Senior season (I would guess after his Junior season). So ultimately, the extra year of eligibility won’t matter. Therefore, why not get at least a couple games from him now, this season, while we still have him?
Yes. Depends on the draft board. But, regardless, can't expect that talent to ever utilize a redshirt season.
Also, would think that kind of talent would help us THIS season when healthy…even if several games.
Stout Out!
Didn't know he was going to be out THAT long.

Guys huge
I hear they’re having to reinforce the floor at the KFC Yum Center so it’ll support his massive girth, that’s the only holdup to his playing.
There was a guy who used to play for LSU
who was so fat they called him the Round Mound of Rebound. You may remember him. Name was Berkeley or something like that.~
Point is, you can be a hefty guy and still contribute. And nothing’s going to burn the fat like running up and down the basketball court. If he’s healthy and able to play, he should play. If his weight is impairing his performance, then bench him – but chalk it up to the performance, not the weight.

We regret the error
I knew it was one of those mid majors.

The Chucks (Barkley & Person) are the only Auburn basketball players worth remembering
I believe the best season AU’s had the L30+ years was Person’s senior year. Elite Eight finish in ’86 where they were beaten in part by a freshman who was not nervous.

Apples to Oranges
Being rotund doesn’t really hinder you that much as a big man. As a SG/SF, quickness and explosiveness is more important than in a PF.
That said, I think the whole “He’s too overweight” may just be a nice way to gloss over the fact that his shoulder isn’t completely healed yet. The last thing we want to do is rush him back and have him get hurt AGAIN because he wasn’t ready to play.
Here's the thing..............
No one wants him to play if there is a significant chance of re-injuring that shoulder. And, if that is the case, why not just say that. Why do we always have to have these back and forths about what Rick “really” meant? There is absolutely no downside to a statement that Waynes shoulder is still not 100%. So, if that is the case, why not just say it? The whole overweight thing is just bizarre and stirs up a lot of totally unnecessary angst. I understand that Rick is a head case and often says things with ulterior motives in mind, but it seems that he also often says things that make very little sense, with NO apparent reason or logic.

When I saw him on Court-side with Dick Pitino
He didn’t look fat to me in any Way/Shape/Form. He did have on a jumpsuit though too…
