Why does it have to be Burr?

I hate WVU, but the way they got screwed completely pissed me off. My patience for bad officiating is non-existent tonight.

by CardinalDude on Jan 28, 2012 7:12 PM EST reply actions

I don't have any sympathy for WVU,

they aren’t stuck with the Big East Refs for much longer.

by muss02 on Jan 28, 2012 7:15 PM EST up reply actions

Did you see the Ok state kid get tossed after getting his second T pulling a Kuric.

Dude had a nasty oop, looked at a guy as he started backing down the court and got called for a T. Big 12 refs aren’t much better.

I don't think it could be worse than what happened to me a couple nights ago tho...

There were about ten seconds left in overtime in our game at Charlestown, down 1. We made a quick two to go up one with about 8 seconds left. Me and about 2 others run at the ref screaming, forming a T with our hands screaming," TIMEOUT TIMEOUT TIMEOUT TIMEOUT TIMEOUT TIMEOUT." We were right in front of him. Our coach was near him, calling for a timeout. And guess what? Yeah, we didn’t get the timeout. They took the ball down the court and made a shot with under 2 seconds. We lost, and we had to restrain a couple of guys after the game. Afterwords, he said that “We didn’t call timeout.”

Anyone else think that it was Burr?

Remember the Beef Bowl!

Help!

I live in TN and according to my cable company, ESPN Fullcourt is not airing the game. I expect that may change, but does anyone have a link to watch it online?

by TNCardfan on Jan 28, 2012 7:34 PM EST reply actions

espn3.com

Quality sucks and you can’t get it to full screen but it’s better than nothing I suppose.

by Cincycard on Jan 28, 2012 7:35 PM EST up reply actions

Sure you are using it correctly.

Can always get HD quality in fullscreen when I stream espn3.

by CardinalDude on Jan 28, 2012 7:36 PM EST up reply actions

That expands it to 3/4 screen

but I still have all the shit on the right. That is what I want to get rid of.

by Cincycard on Jan 28, 2012 7:44 PM EST up reply actions

Are you using the maximize button in the top right corner of your browser window?

In the bottom right of the actual game screen, there is a button with four arrows that all point out. That button does complete fullscreen.

by CardinalDude on Jan 28, 2012 7:46 PM EST up reply actions

That shit is no joke man.

I work IT at a hospital, and you would be absolutely amazed at how little PC knowledge doctors and nurses have. Many of them don’t even know where to find the power button on their PC.

by CardinalDude on Jan 28, 2012 7:49 PM EST up reply actions

Only valid if they know where the power button is.

The conversation is more like:
“My PC isn’t working.”
“Ok, I’ll be over in a few minutes to look at it.”
I walk up. Push the power button. It comes on with no issues.
“What did you do to fix it?!”
“Uhh, I pushed the power button.”
“Where’s that at?!”
“Here.”
“Oh, I feel dumb now.”

Yeah, as you should.

these kids today

Do they seriously watch each other play video games. What the fuck is wrong with them? America has no future. And why is the game blacked out 100s of miles from New Jersey and Louisville. I can’t help but think these two things are related.

by johnnyjoejohnson on Jan 28, 2012 7:56 PM EST up reply actions

I am being serious.

Korea actually has houses where players go to train at being better at the video game.

by CardinalDude on Jan 28, 2012 8:05 PM EST up reply actions

I watch friends play video games.

Sometimes I want to see the story of the game but not actually have to play it.

As for starcraft, is it any different than a sport? It’s a mind game all about strategy and battle. Much better than watching chess, thats for sure.

Gorgui is amazing

His ability to completely disrupt everything around the rim is remarkable.

Still very worried about Peyton. We need him to take much better care of the ball if we’re going anywhere at all this year.

Was happy with the effort all the way around tonight, and very happy to have gotten back over .500 in conf.

I'm not surprised by Peyton tonight

He has two good games, and then tonight he played decent except for the turnovers. It seemed that he was trying to do TOO much. I think maybe after those two good games, he may have been a little over confident and was trying too hard. He’ll get it together. We still look better offensively when he’s in the game.

by rickmbari on Jan 29, 2012 9:22 AM EST reply actions

Nice Spiro reference, but let me say in defense of the nabobers...........

Some of us who are dedicated Cardinal fans have this gene which demands that we constantly look for ways to improve. Period. Our comments always seem to focus on what we could have done better and over my lifetime I have learned that this turns many people off. But please don’t assume that we don’t fully appreciate all the good things the team does or the progress they have made.

I remember hearing a famous coach say very much the same thing. He thought it was his job to constantly look for ways to make the team better, not to sit back and tell them how great they were. And even Pitino constantly refers to their needing to get better, always getting better. It shouldn’t be taken as a sign that we don’t care about all the positives because we do care, we care very deeply, probably too deeply. It just our way of always trying to improve and in that way enjoying even greater success.

Go Cards.

by Carolina Cardinal on Jan 29, 2012 9:53 AM EST up reply actions

The difference between you & most of the buzzkills

Is that your ways to improve comments are mixed in with mostly positive/funny comments. There are some people whose comments I don’t even bother to read once I see the username because they never say anything positive. Plus you WERE right about FT & RB.

by Cards78 on Jan 29, 2012 12:30 PM EST up reply actions

I hear ya, Carolina

This kind of rational conversation — and the good humor for which Cards78 correctly gives you credit — are exactly why I love CC so much.

When I posted above about negativity, I wasn’t lookin’ to call anybody out… and certainly not you. Positive, negative, whatever, I have all kinds of feelings about my Cards — it’s all in the game. I’ve just noticed that during the in-game open threads, it’s easy for the negative stuff to get amplified quickly. That’s why I’ve been focusing more on just watching the games recently, then popping on here afterward.

Anyway, thanks for posting. I always appreciate your point of view.
