Letter to the CRP

My favorite Cardinal football game was the ‘06 opener against UK. I can still see Michael Bush physically running over 3 or 4 defenders on the first play of the game, just a simple run up the middle. Usually this type of play might net 2 or 3 yards if lucky. But with the power of the black uni’s Bush took it 80 motherfucking yards to pay dirt down the kitty cats throats!
Even with Bush getting hurt that game and never wearing a Cardinal uni again, i think that game really set the tone for the whole season. It gave UofL a real swagger, something that disappeared during the Kragthorpe years and is just now starting to return. I want a letter to CS requesting the black uni’s on 9/1. Mark you calendars now kids, 2/1 will be the biggest day in Cardinal history for the Charlie Strong era until that day is surpassed exactly seven months later when the Cards sport the black unis and destroy that other state school on I-64. It has been nice to watch Strong and co. “coach” and develop Krag’s players, but this fall we are really going to see a jump in the level of play. This year’s team will constist of guys that Strong recruited or guys who might have come in under Krags, but have been in CS’s program for so long they are really more CS’s adopted-guys than products of Krags. I expect the Cards to honestly improve at an exponential rate for the next 2-3 years. They will be a top 25 team in 2012, and a top 10 team in 2013!
Get on the train! Fear the Bird! Fade to Black! what ever the slogan…sit back and enjoy the next few years of Cardinal football, because this really is going to be something special.
