I'm OK with this.
We’re not good again. Yet. But it’s coming. I don’t know what’s gonna happen right now, but it’s coming. Don’t be left off.

AP stands for Arrogant Prick right?
For serious – if we play like we did Saturday on a consistent basis we will climb back into the 20’s…
I know it's just what we do, looking at the rankings, but they really don't matter at this point.
If we keep playing the way we did in the last 10 minutes at Pitt (I’m looking at you, Peyton), we’ll be back in the top 20 in 7 days. The funniest thing this week? Lunardi has us at a 10 seed. Playing who, you might ask? #7 Murray State. Now this obviously won’t stick, but our track record in the tourney against MSU teams is NOT good…. We would beat Murray State.
ALL HAIL
Yeah, rankings confuse me
Because Lunardi seems to be “the guy” when it comes to tourney stuff, so I don’t get how UL would be a 10 seed if we are in the top 30 in both polls. That would put us about 7-8, and I know seeding wise there isn’t much difference, but it’s just that much closer to out. But like everybody is saying, we still control our own destiny as long as we keep playing well.
Our RPI is over 40, which will mean more in a few weeks.
But, Lunardi…and the selection committee…rely heavily on the RPI.
Stout Out!
Lunardi is the guy when picking teams but he's not really that accurate with exact seeds from what I remember
maybe i’m wrong but I’m pretty sure he’s not as accurate with that as he has been with picking the teams who makes the field.
I thought Cards would beat
Morehead too Lets not count our chickens….

I like it better when we're unrated.
Now is the time to keep the turn around going. Get on the train? Go Cards.

Creighton at 14 seems a little absurd.
No complaints elsewhere. Anyway, I’m comfortable with our ranking. It misrepresents who we really are, but gives us a reason to get back to where we need to be.

I'm not a big ratings hound but, we're behind Harvard? Jesus.

Once again, Mr. Siva showed us just how important he is.
Peyton doesn’t have to be great. He just has to be good. He has to take care of the ball, pressure the opposing ball handler and, for the love of pete, make an occasional jump shot. Perhaps the last eight minutes of the game will take a load off of his shoulders. His first half was certainly forgettable. But as Mike has said so often, this team’s success depends on Peyton Siva a great deal. He doesn’t have to carry them; he just has to guide them.

SBnation bracketology has us as a 9 seed playing in Louisville
They would be a bad idea. If UofL plays a tourney in Louisville, pencil us in the Sweet 16.
the thing is we're not duke or north carolina
so i wouldn’t worry about playing here.
It's also against the rules
You can’t play on your home court in the tourney.

You are correct
We can’t be here. So SBnation needs a lesson in the rules.
Recruits
Does anyone know anything about the recruits CRP went and visited during that 5 day stretch? I have tried Scouts, Rivals and ESPN. No one seems to know.
Whoever this is, was Tweeted five days ago
This is the only one I remember seeing on Twitter though
“Coach Pitino is going to be in the house to watch Dominic Woodson and @NerlensNoel3 tonight "
According to scouts, Nerlens Noel is a better shot blocker than Godzilla with a broom

Geez, what does Florida State have to do to get ranked?
They just beat Duke and they tore UNC to SHREDS – and those two teams are still in the top ten. If Florida State’s not even worth ranking, that ought to move Duke and UNC down more. IU’s big claim to fame is beating Ohio State and UK, and look what those wins did for IU.
I know that’s irrelevant for purposes of our discussion, but to me these things just show how worthless these rankings are.
inconsistent
Their losses are a little strange.
Near misses against Harvard, UConn are good.
An almost against Princeton is I’m not sure.
They got clobbered by Michigan State, Florida which isn’t so good.
And they also got hammered by Clemson which is definitely not good.
I think they need a psychiatrist.
just like when we were #4
Rankings don’t matter. Rpi and SOS matter..maybe a little motivation for us though
by HaHaSypher on Jan 23, 2012 3:11 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Remember that one time?
When we were ranked in the top ten yet still got a 4 seed? That was awesome.

Aside from what we deserve to be ranked, it seems that in the past few years we always play better when the bball talking heads have written us off or have disrespected us.
Conversely, we seem unable to embrace the spotlight when ranked high. Right now seems like as good as any to fly under the radar while we get our house in order.
