4 days after commiting to Syracuse DE Josh Manley is having second thoughts and is now going to visit both UofL and Missouri before signing day. ESPN rates him as a high 3* (78)...which is the same rating they gave Calvin Pryor and DeVante Parker last year (and those 2 looked like studs as true freshmen last season).
This was mentioned on ESPN's BE blog yesterday, but here is the full story from a Syracuse website.
Milton High School's Josh Manley told Syracuse football coaches that he wanted to play for the Orange after an official visit to campus over the weekend. But that commitment has been changed to a soft verbal, as the defensive lineman from Georgia plans on visiting other schools prior to signing day on February 1.
After his visit over the weekend Manley, who is the nephew of former NFL star Dexter Manley, told The Post-Standard he knew he wanted to come to Syracuse as soon as his visit began.
"All of us, within the first 30 minutes of meeting each other, clicked," Manley said of a group which included other prospects and current Orange players. "It was already like we were all family."
On Wednesday, Manley told Orange Fizz that he wants to visit Missouri and Louisville before ultimately deciding. He has trips to the two schools planned for next week. Rivals.com and ESPN both give Manley a three-star ranking, while Scout.com gives him a two-star ranking.
"I currently still have the verbal to Syracuse, but I'm keeping my options open. I wanted to see Missouri. I've had some interest in Missouri, they recruited me early in the process. I just wanted to make sure I'm choosing the right school. Syracuse was my only visit, I loved it there, but I want to make sure that I see at least one more school before I make my decision."
