Louisville Slips To No. 10/No. 11 In Rankings
A couple of spots better than I expected and honestly a couple of spots better than we probably deserve. If I were an Indiana fan I'd be fairly upset considering they have just one loss and have beaten the (at the time) No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country. On the other hand, polls are meaningless.

I watched the Indiana/Ohio State game yesterday.
It was kind of depressing watching that after our loss to kenSucky. That was a game! Guys on both ends of the floor making big play after big play and a pretty exciting finish. I guess there is too much emotion in a rivalry game(and too many fouls) to ever expect a good one.

...except for the original dream game, when two seasoned teams played unbelievely well
U of L shot 81% in the second half -and 100% in overtime- to beat a UK team that shot 56% for the game. Yes— we beat the bastards then, even when they shot 56% !
Those were the days.
For the record, I think we still have the ability to be in the Final Four, but this is a more than fair ranking for where we are now.

Way better than I expected.
Two postives to take out of last week…this and the fact that UK didn’t hand us our first loss of the best start since 19whatever; would have never heard the end of that.
Yeah, both weak positives but I look at it like I looked at the exact situation last year…I would rather have the record books record Drexel as the first loss in the YUM center than UK. Talk about redneck fodder for life!
#10/11 in 2012.
Forget last week. This team is right were we need to be. How many teams over the past 10 years have been ranked this high on New Year’s Day? Maybe the FF team. Everyone else had worse losses than Georgetown/UK.
Also, fuck uk.

I wouldn't mind if we switched with indiana.
I feel like they deserve it

They're good.
I feel like we would beat them at the Yum and lose in Bloomington.

From AP reporter
Also from today: #UofL coach Rick Pitino said Wayne Blackshear is 15 lbs overweight and will be at best a “worthy substitute” this year.

I’m hoping this is just Rick being Rick, in fact I’m almost sure it is. Still, it’s not something any of us want to hear.
The only time we saw this kid on a college basketball court he airballed two 3's against Bellarmine.
Double that kind of rustiness and triple how far behind he is on Rick’s notoriously impossible system and I see no reason to get very high or excited on 2011-2012 Blackshear.

Amen. Makes you wonder if a red shirt might not be best for him and the team.

Idk
He may not be a one-and-done, or even a two-and-done at this point, but you figure he won’t be here 4 years. Plus, he may come up big in a 1st round game against Morehead or somebody.

SI
Here is the halfway Buy / Sell from SI on the Cards:
LOUISVILLE (12-2, No. 11): SELL
Hopefully, you were smart enough to sell the Cardinals last week when they were undefeated and ranked No. 4. Their losses to Georgetown and Kentucky corrected their stock price, but I’m afraid this team has more to fall before it rises again. Five of Louisville’s first seven Big East games will be on the road, and the Cards have to play Syracuse twice in February. The Cardinals will get better because a) they are still getting healthy, and b) Rick Pitino is their coach. But we learned last week that this is not a top-five, or even a top-10, caliber team in terms of talent. They are going to have to scratch and claw the rest of the way.
