Ending cards skid/ by utilizing new options and maximizing strenghts

The Defense I have watched UL play the past ten years under Rick Pitino and was a UL fan growing up watching Denny Crum.
The college basketball landscape has changed and Rick and Denny are very different in their coaching styles. Denny Crum was a man to man guy and his players always played tight defense often gambling on intercepting balls in the passing lanes at the top of the key for wide open fast breaks. Rick plays a zone and confuses teams by creating different looks and causes a team to be unorganized and unable to run their typical offense many times throwing them off balance. Im a big fan of Pitino's zone and a veteran coach sometimes gets stuck in his ways but I would like to see him be more open from switching his style and playing a complete game Man to man game and switching. Because we need a surprise attack and Rick your getting older people expect a typical Rick Pitino. Rick sometimes during a game if the Zone is not working! Try man to man and see what happens, nothing fancy just man to man switch. Just like the Hall of Famer coach Denny Crum.......it worked for him for 20 years winning two national titles. I believe defense will pick up the game will tighten up and look for more Louisville steals fast breaks and easy baskets. Something this team needs more of.

Now the offense okay we have already established Rick has his own coaching style and he has proven over the years that he has had some great offensive power. Utilizing the 3 pionter to our advantage and we have seen many players excel at becoming a great outside shooters. For the exception of this year we have had some injured players and the available players lack efficency from behind the 3 point line. What I would like to see from this team is Players such as Siva , Kuric and Chris smith learn to take a STOP AT THE FOUL LINE 1. make a pass on the fast break 2. PULL UP TAKE A MID RANGE FOUL LINE JUMPER 3. DRIVE A LITTLE PAST THE FOUL LINE 6 FOOT FLOATER OR SHORT JUMP SHOOT. SIVA,KURIC,CHRIS SMITH AND RUSS ALREADY DOES THIS BUT DOESNT PASS AS MUCH. 4. BALL FAKE AND DRAW FOULS EXAMPLE SIVA FAKE 3 DRAW FOUL IF THE SHOOTS ARENT FALLEN.

1. THAT WILL OPEN UP A ALLY HOOP FOR DENG OR CHANE 2. THE DEFENSE IS DRAWN TO THE PLAYER WITH THE BALL. 3. OPEN UP BOUNCE PASS TO OPEN POST PLAYERS 4. LEARN HOW TO BALL FAKE......NOBODY ON THE TEAM BALL FAKES. EXAMPLE BALL FAKE GUYS FOR AND EASY LAY UP

Im not a guru but that is basic stuff Im suggesting for our guards to improve their game. Our fowards also need to shoot foul line jumpers and if they cant I suggest that they practice also baseline jumpers. We need mid range jumpers just like the 80s and Denny Crum.

Last but not least folks Ive been watching basketball for 20 years Deng is a beast in the MIDDLE, I can garantee he will go pro. Our offense needs to go through him and we need to feed it to him in the high post or low post. He will score and he can kick it out for open shooters once the defense colapses. Its not rocket science he will score......he can hit the foul line jumper and I trust him to hit threes more than our forwards right now.

MY NAME IS SHANE IM NOT A GURU BUT RICK THESE ARE THE BASIC LOL
