Even though he was immediately T'd up and the announcers called the motion reprehensible I wish our players would be that into the game. I understand the significance of violent motions especially after the Cincy/Xavier zip 'em up incident so I by no means encouraging that we behave like gangsters (not thugs). I am just saying that if a dude like Gardner on Marquette is scoring on you with those absurd over the shoulder shots (Tyler Hansboro'ish) and the ref is calling everything then you put him on the deck and make sure he doesn't make the shot. That's not promoting violence, that's not saying throw a punch...just protect the paint and the rim. Gamesmanship is a part of every sport and honestly I think that is what we struggle at the most.
