Courtside with Rick Pitino 1/14/12

Some interesting stuff, and a hilarious political rant at the end. He did motivate me to want to improve my jumpshot though. Enjoy..

There was absolutely no way he puts that whole bit on Jealousy, Paranoia, and Procrastination if it has nothing to do with the team. People being jealous of Russ, Peyton being Paranoid that he might get benched. Chris and Kyle procrastinating on on being the leaders of the team that they need to be. I think Rick should spend a little less time tryna improve kids jumpshot. During the season that is really something you shouldnt do because it causes players ( i know beleive me) to think rather than shoot. For Ex he says Siva has been working really hard at it and this is work shooting percentage of the year. changing your shoot is something you work on during the off time. I be;ieve Rick is really trying to do everything but what he should do fix the offensive problem

Had the same thought about fixing the jumpshot

You can almost see them thinking before they shoot and it’s not working. He said you can really see the improvement in Peyton Siva. Well maybe he can see but we sure as hell can’t. Also, while I am not against improving one’s mechanics, there are some things that are better left alone, at least until the off season. Golf is a great analogy. Almost no who makes a swing change is any good at all for months afterward. Look at Tiger each times he made the changes. And there are some who have unorthodox swings (Jim Furyk types) that are both very good and very consistent with their swing. It might look bad, but it feels natural to them, they have confidence in it, and it works for them.

If a player wants to change his shot, May to October would be a good time to do that.

Rick voted for a Democrat?

So THAT’S why we’re having so many problems!
