LSU Transfer picking UL? GET ON THE TRAIN!!!

Here is a link to the article http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2012/01/lsu_wr_russell_shepard_tweets.html

We were in Kardon Boone final two choices before he decided to choose to take his talent to Baton Rouge and play for the LSU tigers and I honestly can't blame him at the time of his decision because Strong and company were working on his first class at UL. Even though we have a lot of talent at the WR position I will take him gladly. Remember there is a reason why LSU wanted him. He would be able to play in 2013 when TB5 should be more than pick teams apart in a spread formation passing game.

5 wide spread

If we move to more of an SEC style spread offense as TB5 gets more experience than the more wideouts the better. College defenses are lucky to have 1 good corner its near impossible to cover multiple deep threats. Just look at what WVU did to Clemson in the Orange Bowl.

injuries happen (remember this UL you can guarantee they will happen) plus the play will determine what 5 guys you want out there. Some are better deep threats and some are better going across the middle.

Never bad news when a guy from an elite program looks to come to UofL

But I gotta say that what we need now is more beef up front, not more skill at WR. I’d like to pick up another couple OL guys and maybe a top RB if we can find one. I can’t imagine a top RB wouldn’t want to come play where they run a pro-style game that emphasize running a lot.

I agree CardsFanTX

I don’t think a WR that is pissed that he isn’t getting the reps he thinks he deserves is the best thing for a young team right now. We are already stacked at WR, and we don’t really know this guys story is. He may just not like to work off the feild or in practice, and that be the reason why he isn’t playing time at LSU…. Who knows really, just need to trust Charlie’s judgment. But I agree a solid RB would be nice ~~gscheper

Where is there any proff he is coming to UofL?

Where does it say in the article or his tweets that UofL is on the radar for him to transfer to? To me this is nothing more than a guy that is not happy with his PT at LSU and wants to transfer. Just because UofL was on the shortlist before he committed to LSU doesn’t mean that he has stated interest to transfer to UofL?

Am I missing something here?

I think we all thought the same thing

I was just wondering why we were talking about a wr that we are probably not recrutiing and really don’t need.

Is this the same guy who went on Twitter blaming everyone but himself for his poor performance this year?

Something about “I only had four drops all year so who’s fault is it now?” If so, not sure we need that kind of kid on our team anyway.

The headline is very misleading

But we were one of the last few schools on his list when he committed. I’m too lazy to look it up but I believe he was down to LSU, Texas Tech, Louisville, and maybe another school or two. LSU doesn’t play a lot of players at WR because they don’t spread the field very much. They also haven’t had very good quarterback play over the last few years, so it doesn’t surprise me that they have guys leaving. I personally don’t see Charlie pursuing very many WR because I’m sure James Quick is the Nick Dawson of next years class. Even though these guys are older and won’t be around for long, you never know how a recruit might take having to possibly battle for playing time.

Is there a

"Clay Ables post format" drop-down available that I’m unaware of??
