What Is Happening Here, Bob?
It would be downright irresponsible for us to let this day pass without honoring one of the most memorable Villen vids (and announcer lines) of all-time.
Maybe this will get everyone's mojo shifted back in the right direction.

That temper tantrum the PC player throws at 1:34 after Kuric blows past him for an offensive board and layup is hilarious.

Ha ha
I didn’t even notice it until reading your comments. Thanks for pointing it out.
Yep, good execution on the break looks... good.
The highlight isn’t the best sample, but notice most of those points came off the break. The scores from the offensive sets were either from Preston or off offensive rebounds.

praying Siva from that game returns tonight
Love his fired cross court assist to KK where he starts walking back before KK even shoots.
he definitely did that more than once, in more games than one.
I remember bitching that it was cocky, but now I find myself missing the swag.

A true leader
Preston might have not had the most talent but he was a LEADER! that is what we need now. Someone needs to step up…
I know these are highlights...
but compare this to our current team. Are our guys just hungover all the time or something?
Probably my favorite play ever.
Also, Preston didn’t care if his shot might get blocked. He put it up. CS5 and King have to adapt that mindset. It’s like their fear of failure is holding this team back. If they all had a little of Preston/Russ’ fearlessness, our scoring would spike.

it sure feels like a lot of continuity between this year and last
but look who’s scoring the points in this highlight: preston, TJ, kuric, goode; marra and SVT doin a lot of the dirty work (steals and assists). obv siva’s in there a lot too, but with the exception of him and kyle, no one else on that list is playing for us this year.
Marra & SVT don't get enough credit.
Marra may not have always done what he was brought here to do, but IMO he brought so much to our game. And SVT would make a big play as soon as he checked in.
Having Blackshear, Marra, and Hancock available next year should be very nice
Of course, we expected 2 of those 3 to be available this year.

I think your video may have had the opposite effect Mike
Sounds like a lot of guys are depressed missing last years team. I know I am. CRP should show some of these game tapes to our current team. I don’t understand why we’re not making these extra passes this year to find the open man. Go Cards!
I want that team back
I like the team this year, but they just dont have the heart last years did
People have to remember...
This was one of the last games of the year last year. By that the time we were mostly healthy and our flow was almost perfected. Let’s see where this team is on senior day this year. We still have 2 months to iron out our massive wrinkles, that’s a lot of time!

I'm going to watch this everytime i feel like 2012 is going to be the end of the world.
i think in another dimension we won that game against Morehead and Knowles was the MVP of the tournament as we hoisted the improbable trophy
If the point of this post...
…was to make us even more depressed about our offensive ineptitude this season, mission accomplished. Preston carried us a lot more last year than I think most of us remember.
this hurts.. especially the senior montage at the end
but does anyone have siva’s phone number or facebook/twitter? i think the baby uni may get his game moving back in the right direction.
Man, that team had chemistry
What the f*ck happened.

Things we do not have that we had last year: effective scorer (Preston), three back up centers (TJ, SVT, Goode), three point shooting threat and good defender/passer (NEMM), our real point guard, Kyle’s surprise factor (everyone is on to his game this year)
Things we have this year that we didn’t have last year: Chane, Rak, Swop, much improved Gorgui, interobang,
I’d say the losses much out weigh the gains. Coming in we were looking at just losing Preston (could have decently been filled by Russ and Co.) and TJ/Goode (all the big men would have been a large improvement). But with all the losses and unexpected happenings things just aren’t like we thought. There is still time for things to change but at this point we just aren’t the team we thought we would have.
On paper, this year's team is clearly more talented than last year.
Preston, TJ, Goode, Marra and SVT are not superior (in terms of talent) than Rak, Swop, Russ, Gorgui, Chane, Ware, Nunez, Blackshear and Price.
To me, the difference is clearly leadership. Preston’s leadership to last year’s team was amazing. Remember our offensive woes against Morehead State after Preston went down….yeah, it’s kinda like that. We need a leader…from the bench, from the floor…who cares.
Top candidates in my eyes for a leader to emerge immediately are Siva (if he realizes that his performance isn’t a prerequisite for being a team leader), Chane (he’s vocal and on the floor enough to get a following, but he’s a freshman and a bit immature at that), and Russ (he’s vocal, on the floor, relentless worker, but needs poise).

Kick ass video. Kick ass team.
We are literally 3 games into an 18 game conference season. Lighten up, Franci. As long as this team get where they need to be by the end of the season and we’re firing on all cylinders going into the NCAAs, I’m going to be a happy guy.
This is my favorite Cardinal team ever
but remember that until January 15th, 2011 (the Marquette game) we all still thought it was going to be a long year.
I don't have the stomach to watch the last 3 minutes of this video,... as Mike would say, "So many emotions."
