"If UK is committed to winning in football," Story writes, "isn't it time to at least think about finding a different league in which to play? "Southeastern Conference football is the gold standard. It features big-time stadiums, massive fan bases and, collectively, the best players on display this side of the NFL. "The problem for Kentucky is that playing in the mac daddy of college football leagues, UK hasn't had a winning record in SEC games since 1977." Maybe we could arrange a trade: Kentucky to the Big East, Louisville to the SEC. Seriously, though, if Kentucky were to leave the SEC, that would create a huge opening for the Cards to move in. We'd mop up in basketball, and be much more competitive in football than the Cats have ever been. I know, it's a pipe dream. But hey, it's bye week and I'm bored.
