Word out of Akron is that Kentucky has now offered scholarships to both T.J. Warren and Mitch McGary. The pair will be teammates at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire this season, and just so happen to be two of Louisville's top targets in the class of 2012.
Earlier this week, Warren trimmed his list of potential schools to seven, a move which included cutting Kentucky. My hunch is the Wildcats make a reappearance on his radar after today's news.
Mcgary, the intense five-star center who has impressed coaches throughout the summer, was high on UK even before today.
In other news out of the LeBron James Skills Academy, top Cardinal target D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera has been stepping out of his comfort zone and playing point guard. Though he's advertised as a natural scorer from the two guard position, he's said multiple times this summer that he's committed to learning how to run the point in order to make himself a better player at the college level.
The other major U of L recruit who has had a big week is Gary Harris. The ferocious defender and elite scorer would be an enormous coup if Pitino is able to snatch him out of the Hoosier state.
