The Louisville football blog posted an update earlier today and stated what most die-hard Cardinal fans had already been fearing: there will be no open practices this year. No chance to spend hours thinking about what who starts the first practice at cornerback really means, no chance to devote 200 words to one Josh Bellamy dropped pass, no chance to oggle Will Stein from afar.
I'll miss it.
The players will wrap up offseason conditioning this week and then return to campus on the evening of Aug. 3 for a team dinner. Fall camp will then begin on Aug. 4 with a 6:10 a.m. practice for returning players. The freshmen will practice together later that evening.
The other big note from the post is that all players who missed spring practice with injuries are heading into fall camp "at full strength." Twenty-three Cardinals missed the spring game in April because of injuries.
