Semaj Christon, one of the class of 2012 point guards being recruited by Rick Pitino, committed to Xavier this afternoon according to Brian Snow of Scout.com. He did not hold a scholarship offer from Louisville.

Christon, a Cincinnati native, has recently become one of the fastest risers in the class of 2012 after some strong summer circuit performances in May and June. He was also being recruited by Illinois, Georgetown and Cincinnati, among others.

U of L is still targeting '12 floor generals Kris Dunn and J-Mychal Reese. Although rumors of Reese's father joining the coaching staff at Texas A&M had led many to believe that a commitment from J-Mychal was soon-to-follow, the elder Reese says that isn't the case. Still, it might be time to go ahead and turn up the heat on Dunn.
