SO I was chatting with my UK fan cousin and we were debating this years draft.
Here is how the conversation went:
Cousin: "Aye man, if we had Kanter we would of won the National Championship, he was killing everyone in Turkey. He is about to be the first pick in the draft, everyone is saying hes a beast"
Me: "Thats an achievement hahahah, I haven't seen him play but we will see how he does"
Cousin: "In the USA Vs The World games he was killing Sullinger, killing Terrence Jones, he is a beast"
Me: "That's nice but the guy is 7 foot and wide bodied, I hope he would do that to such smaller by comparison defenders"
Cousin: "hahah anyways, tell me honestly put your hate aside for UK, how are(if you are a coach) pick up Kyrie Irving who only played 9 games during the regular season , and when he did he played non conference cup cakes, over my boy Brandon Knight who is honestly a way better shooter, passer and all around player"
Me: "You got a good point there man, Brandon Knight is really good and honestly, I would much rather have him than Irving. Being that Knight played all of his games and really played well in all of them. But let me ask you this bro."
Cousin: "Whats that??"
Me: "If you say that, then why would you (as a coach) pick Canter over Derrick Williams. Williams actually played well in all of his games this season, he has proven he is a CLUTCH defender and he is probably the most explosive player in this draft (that's an overstatement being that this years draft is weak, but nothing taken from Williams) He can shoot, he can dribble for a big guy, he can block shots which CANTer isn't capable of. Williams was top 4 player in the country and if he had any good talent around him he would of gone further in the tournament. He is 2nd team All American and Pac 10 Player of the year. So why would you rather pick a man who has been playing well OVERSEAS than a man that was the best big man in the NCAA???"
Cousin: "...........(pause)... Canter is a beast man!"
