What's The Difference?
How come Louisville players get no love for draft?
What's the difference between Mark Ingram and Bilal Powell?
What's the difference between Jake Locker and Adam Froman?
Is it the competition level.... is it the schools tradition, what is it.
Louisville always has that ONE good talent every year for football and is always overshadowed by some hyped up soon to be bust.
Jake Locker suffered the Brian Brohm effect and could of been the first QB taken in draft the following year, but felt like he could go one more year and give it another shot, well Locker(like him or not) had a bad season. Juts like Brohm did.
I mean granted Adam Froman isn't the greatest QB, but dude can throw a good ball and can escape the pass rush alot better than any QB comming out this year.
How come I never see any Louisville player on these draft specials like Grudens QB camp, or Mel and Todd's big board?
Mel or Todd don't even have Louisville players as a "steal" for the draft.
Bilal Powell had a way more effective season than former Heisman winner Mark Ingram did, but Ingram is still projected first round pick.
And when Louisville players DO get the opportunity, something ALWAYS GOES WRONG.
Bilal gets injured showing out fort scouts. Eric Wood starts to get in the rhythm of things at the Bills then suffers a horrific injury. Brohm finally gets the opportunity to start and all times he has played a game he has completely dropped the ball. Hunter Cantwell didn't get a chance to show out for the Panthers during their QB struggles this season.
Is it just our luck, whats going on here.

To be fair...
Brian Brohm still had a decent senior season. It was the defense that sucked and caused him to force things in games because he was playing from behind
He was still the 3rd (4th?) QB taken, and several analysts were pretty surprised he dropped out of the first round. Any failings after that have been purely of his own doing.

Agree, plus he started 3 more games his senior year than any previous season
As you said, Brohm had to take more risks in the passing game mostly due to the lack of "run support" on D his senior year. But his statistics weren’t terrible. Compared to his junior season, the senior Brohm answered durability questions by avoiding major injury, learned a “new system”, threw 13 more TDs, had 1,000 more yards passing & increased his completion % under Krags. On the other hand, he was also INT’d 7 more times & suffered 8 more sacks.
The only thing that should’ve hurt his draft stock was a poor win-loss record & not leading his team to a bowl game one year removed from winning the Orange Bowl. I suppose we can still blame Krags for that.

umm what hurt is draft stock
is that he has a really weak arm and when he go into the combine and pro day work outs the scouts realized that. He can lob the deep sideline pass put Brohm has never had a really good amount of zip on his ball. He has had a couple of opportunities at GB and Buffalo to show he is at least worth the #2 job and has failed miserably unfortunately.
Michael Bush is our current Card in the NFL hope since William Gay showed promise but has recently been getting burned, Amobi Okoye has underachieved for his draft spot, and Harry Douglas can’t seem to stay healthy – though I think he will be good this next year.
….still love Kerry Rhodes…. really wish he made that INT against Miami, damnit!

I can’t believe I forgot Elvis! he is even on the Broncos!
I apologize Elvis

Umm, obviously
His arm strength didn’t magically get better/worse during his senior year. He would’ve performed similarly at the NFL Combine had he entered the draft early in 2006. The point we were discussing/agreeing upon was whether staying at Louisville (and being afflicted by Krag1N1) hurt his draft stock or if it was his own doing.

Right
And I am saying it is his own “doing” if you can say that – some people just have stronger arms than others…. this is why I am not in the NFL.
Brohm was a top tier QB in college starting with his soph. year, but once he got into the combine system where they really discect your game his weaknesses really stood out and unfortunately having a weak arm is a tough one to overcome when you are a quarterback

In other words
It does not matter how long he was in college or what team drafted him….. he was never going to be a NFL starter, and it seems now legit #2, because he has a weak arm and can’t put enough on it to squeeze into tight spots. Everything else about his game seems fine to me

so much for my Harry prediction
since the Falcons just made one of the dumbest trades in draft history to snag Julio Jones…. I hope Harry gets traded and used as a dangerous slot weapon – the first team to do so will be happy they did

true but after he got drafted
they were saying he would give aaron rodgers a run for his money and compete to be the Packers franchise.
Matt Flynn almost beat Tom Brady and the Pats when AROD was injured!

Still don't see how him staying an extra season caused that.
He could’ve been here for 1 season or 12, and there’s no way to say that he would have done any differently in the League.
"I mean granted Adam Froman isn't the greatest QB, but dude can throw a good ball and can escape the pass rush alot better than any QB comming out this year"
I heard the airport had to reroute planes away from Papa John’s when Froman was in the game for fear that one of his ‘moon ball’ passes would get interfere with the landing gear of approaching planes.
We show our worth over time...
e.i.
Deion Branch, Superbowl MVP
David Akers, loser of 4 NFC Championships, but still awesome
Tom Jackson, he’s on ESPN!
Brohm sucks, that’s why his career was short lived

I mean Mark Ingram has a heisman.
Bilal does not and im sorry but Adam Froman is terrible.
Yeah only 8 NFL teams have made direct contact with Froman & his agent
I’m sorry, but my uncle Gus said Froman sucks ‘cuz he’s one a dem ginger fellers and I can’t argue with that.

If teams are staying away from Dalton because he's a ginger
They will never touch Froman.
