New football uniforms for the Cards?

These are pretty sweet.

Are we sure Chichester is 6-9? I swear somebody told me that.

I hope so.

I’ve hated these past few season’s jersey. That ring was ugly, and I always thought the red was off. This looks MUCH better. Now the jersey will match the pants and helmet.

something is wrong here...

these are nice, they look very retro with all the stripes, but we have had so many uni changes… and I am 1000000000 percent sure nobody on our team looks like that. we are louisville, come on!

by Will Oldham on Apr 26, 2011 7:18 PM EDT reply actions

At least the jerseys match the pants.

I like them. Anything is better than the jerseys we have now.

It’s not a big deal, but I still wish the ‘Louisville’ on the front was bigger like it was in the Petrino (and first year of Krag) days:

Now it’s not even as wide as the numbers:

exactly

this is exactly what ive wanted since we went to the dumb rings on the sholders.

Recruits are Gonna Love This!

Just think how sick these unis will look with: Black Jerseys and Pants with the triple stripe, now if we can only get those black helmets…

by Criss-Cross Card on Apr 26, 2011 8:49 PM EDT reply actions

Interesting...

I don’t hate them…but I don’t love them either. Has anyone seen Arizona St.’s new Unis though? Vicious. I would be in favor of something like that, with exception of the radical redesign of the logo.

by James Sutherland on Apr 26, 2011 8:55 PM EDT reply actions

Wow, these are the lamest uniforms I've ever seen.

I would much prefer something modern and awesome like Az State or Oregon.

by Jason G on Apr 26, 2011 9:23 PM EDT reply actions

Shouldn't the uniforms be school colors?

Of course, I’d be embarrassed too if my school’s colors were green and gold. “I don’t know but I’ve been told . . . .”

Re ASU: 1) Black is such a winning color when it’s 110 outside. 2) Do they really need the swoosh-tika on both shoulders too? 3) Since when does a devil use a trident?

by 520Card on Apr 26, 2011 9:44 PM EDT up reply actions

ok

The AZ ones are a little over the top but Oregon’s are sick. We wouldn’t have to be THAT flashy but these are just too traditional for me. We aren’t a traditional football school so why have old school uniforms.

by Jason G on Apr 27, 2011 5:39 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

That's not a trident.

Think of it as a three-tined pitchfork, with, um… barbs on the ends.

Not digging those

I’m glad they finally got rid of the stupid rings around the shoulders, but this is not an improvement otherwise. I wish they’d just go back to the ones that everyone loved.

This is Louisville Cardinals Football, IMO.

I actually like these too.

The inverse, white jersey/red pants look that you all wore at WVU in 2005 were my favorites. I always thought those uniforms were sharp. It’s been all downhill since.

I dont know if I like the new look..

But I will like it better when we are WINNING in it!!

by Rich Gosselin on Apr 26, 2011 9:32 PM EDT reply actions

besides "the ville" on the jerseys

i dont really give a shit what the unis look like. why does everyone care so much? i like some more than others, like the creative ones Oregon gets, and i really like the matte finish black helmets the VaTech had against Boise, but i really don’t get the strong feelings about what they wear. I’m cool with people calling us The Ville, but for God’s sake please do not put them on our jersey’s.

ALL HAIL

by Cardinal_Pride on Apr 26, 2011 10:15 PM EDT reply actions

That was my first thought.

That this was just a generic uni used in a regional ad.

Ok.

Yes, that is Kyle Kuric

Love these.

Very classic and timeless. They say “tradition” and not “trendy.” Plus, they match perfectly with the helmets, which I loved last year.

Also, I seriously made almost these exact jerseys for NCAA11 last year with my created Louisville dynasty.

by CARD_G6 on Apr 27, 2011 12:43 AM EDT via mobile reply actions

Agree.

After what we’ve done with the pants and helmet, how fancy does anybody really want the jerseys? Charlie likes the traditional look.

by crazygameofpoker on Apr 27, 2011 1:18 AM EDT up reply actions

The school is marketing “the ville”, I have no problem with it. I believe that technically we are the first ville in the county, so why not flaunt it.

All I wished for was the pants and jersey to match. Mission accomplished. They can even have “the ville” on them. Hit somebody and win football games.

by jcarti01 on Apr 27, 2011 1:29 AM EDT via mobile reply actions

"The Ville" was really pushed hard by the Big East as a replacement for "The U."

We were always intended to be the heir apparent to Miami’s spot considering how many players we recruited from Florida.

Or so I’ve been told.

by CARD_G6 on Apr 27, 2011 1:34 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Interesting that the Big East would care one way or another about that.

But if anyone was going to be a replacement for Miami, I’d have to think it would be USF, being that they are from Florida and all.

Not meant to be a slight on your program, as you were clearly the cream of the crop in terms of the new teams we brought in.

To answer Mike's original question...

I’ve never confirmed that Josh Chichester is indeed 6’9". I’m almost certain, however, that he’s not a pasty white dude.

by CARD_G6 on Apr 27, 2011 1:36 AM EDT via mobile reply actions

I am a fan,

especially after the fail of a uni we wore during Krag’s last 2 years and last year’s jerseys. I also agree w/ the comment about the Louisville on the front getting smaller is a negative, but overall I’m satisfied.

can someone photoshop Will Stien’s happy face on to the pic of the new unis?

by Cards & Tops 4 Life on Apr 27, 2011 1:58 AM EDT reply actions

Sorry but everytime i see people talk about uniforms i laugh

What is this freaking next fashion designer or something. It’s a uniform I dont care what they look like as long as they are red/white/black and say louisville on them..

by gary west on Apr 27, 2011 8:52 AM EDT reply actions

I was cracking up reading comments from a bunch of guys

about what amounts the fashion statement we are making. I also think it is hilarious that sports video games have the option where you can create uniforms. It is like playing Barbies, but for boys. I guess most men do have a softer side, but it is only appropriate to share in the context of sports.

Personally, I think these uniforms are a little boring, but I am a chick and prefer lots of pizzazz, so what do I know?

by CardChick on Apr 27, 2011 11:06 AM EDT up reply actions

Pizzazz?

Lol wait for the adidas summer Bedazzled line coming to a college near you!

by gary west on Apr 27, 2011 11:12 AM EDT up reply actions

I'd be OK with some sequins ...

Maybe we can base the football uniforms on the Ladybirds’ outfits?

How about varsity mud wrestling?

Q: Who wins?
A: Who cares?

I like the uniforms but...

…but we need some of the crazy Oregon socks!

I didn’t notice the resemblance, but I thought I’d post here. Charlie digs traditional.
