College recruiting

Stay connected for news and updates

Okay so I guess I'm totally lost at this point.   Can someone please fill me in on the process of college recruiting?

With Tim fuller leaving after what was the start of a great recruiting run we seem to be seeing the fallout.  The recent news of Tony Woods opening up offers and Kevin Wares possible desire to play at UCF has me wondering... What in the heck do recruiters do anyway???

I was under the impression it was the recruiters job to approach these kids with the possibility of playing for the University of Louisville.  Then it was a matter of educating them on the number of reasons why it would be beneficial for them to play here.  ( CRP, NBA future, Education, Facilities, Yum Center, National Exposure etc).  So with that said what has these kids so obsessed with Tim Fuller that they are no longer a firm commit to the program with him gone????

Now I understand there is a lot more to this whole equation than just educating players on the benefits of playing for Louisville.   I'm sure Tim Fuller is an exceptional "Sales" guy and relates with the kids well.    It still however doesn't explain what seems to be an infatuation that the kids have with him....

To be honest the thought has been going through my mind that maybe Fuller has gone back and told these guys that there could be better options.  Now I'm not sure what benefit that would be for him however I really cant figure out why the kids would be so worked up over him leaving.  Are we sure there are no hard feelings or something that happened behind the scenes to cause Fuller to want to leave?  Hence leaving him with the desire to stab LVL in the back.   I have absolutly no proof of that im just thinking out loud.

As others have said.... Recruiting is creepy.
