Cards and Cats meet at 6 tonight

Following four games on the road last week, the 28th-ranked Louisville baseball team returns home to host rival Kentucky on Tuesday at 6 p.m., ET at Jim Patterson Stadium. Live play-by-play of the game can be heard on KOOL 1570 AM, while CardsTV, available to subscribers online at www.UofLSports.com, will provide live audio for the game. The game will also be televised throughout the state by Wazoo Sports with Drew Deener and Bob Valvano calling the action. Fans can also follow live pitch-by-pitch scoring online through the Gametracker feature at www.UofLSports.com. Louisville will start freshman right-hander Jeff Thompson (1-0, 3.38 ERA) on the mound against Kentucky sophomore righty Jordan Cooper (2-1, 5.89 ERA). The Cardinals enter Tuesday's game at 20-11 overall after taking two of three at Cincinnati last weekend. The Wildcats are 16-17 overall after being swept at home by Auburn. U of L trails the all-time series with UK 56-32-1. The two teams have split their two-game, home-and-home matchups in each of the last four years. Last season, the Wildcats earned a 5-0 win in Lexington, while two weeks later, the Cardinals picked up a 10-9, walk-off victory in front of a regular season school record crowd of 4,039 at Jim Patterson Stadium. After Tuesday's game, the two teams will meet again on April 26 in Lexington.
