Often times the HC of any team is the first to get the pat on the back for a job well done or the finger pointed at them for dropping the ball. In the case of the CARDS, Pitino deserves a lot of credit for the success that we've had this season. But I'd like to point out an area that is under appreciated because I think we've come to expect it. That's the developement of coaches. Specifically, Rick has molded Masiello into a "preperation machine". I didn't really take notice until an interview between Masiello and Paul Rogers where he stated that he was resposible for the scouting and film breakdown for pretty much every game. In the Pitt game I made a point to watch Masiello on the bench and it was amazing how many times he jumped up off the bench and directed the defense as soon as the play was called by their guard. Because of that, numerous times, Pitt had issues even getting the play started because we knew where they were going and were in position before they could get there. In my mind Masiello is this years Defensive MVP and deserves all the credit in the world. GO CARDS!
